Atlas I think a better question is:

Would deer hunting be what is today if deer did not have antlers. People on this board are bad test group. We are all to dedicated. Yes I would still hunt them. I was brought up a meat hunter first.

Like Shed33 said if we did not know would it matter? To be honest I never thought of it that way.

I made the comment to Atlas, way I look at it from how I see people hunting here in MI. My feeling is we would have so few hunters deer would be wiped out in parts. Look at other countries animals without game laws. Animals are poached for their value to near extinction. Now same animal in another country is thriving because of hunting and it has value to the people of that country.

Sorry IMO I do not see whitetail deer having enough value to hunt it as we do today if they were all slickheads. Not saying anyone you or me thinks this. As a whole I do not see it. This is just what I think, what the hell do I know. With Shed33 statement I may be wrong. I just never though of it that way.

Atlas fair questions to ask. I have enjoyed reading the reponses.

Questions:
Do you think the same amount of money would be pumped into hunting whitetails?

If not what affect does that have on everyone?

I think there would be less hype but the camo, scents, anthe planting practices that the seed companies push would still be the same. I think the one major difference would be the taxi business.

Good point about Taxi
What about

Game cams?
Out state tags? Is anyone going to pay $400.00 to hunt Iowa?
Outfitters
Buckmasters would they even exist?
TVshows
DVD industry
TDM
QDMA
Pope and Young
Boone and Crockett

How many less bow companies might we have? How many less hunters?

The comment I made was not about you or I. About the big picture, now after Shedd33 comment I have thought it over. I was looking knowing what I know now. A world with out antlers would be very bad for the whitetail. As shed said would we know and would it matter.Again this is just what I think might be.
