Default Minumum antler regulations

I was just wondering what states have regulations on the size a deer's antlers have to be before it can be killed ( number of points, spread)? WV only has it inacted on a few WMA. I think WV would be able to produce a larger number of nice bucks if this where done. The surrounding hunters won't take it in to their own hands to let the little ones walk. (which yes if you look under "let's see your mugs" I did take a smaller buck last year.)

Wisconsin nor Iowa has an antler minimum. I would like to see one though. I think it is a mini QDM program in a way. Most peoples excuse for shooting 1 1/2 bucks is 'well if I don't shoot him, someone else will'......which very well may be true because you can't control what the neihboring land is doing. But it becomes the law, then I guess there are no more excuses or worries.

In Mich we can shot 2 bucks. The 2nd most have 4 pts on one side. So what happens is people shot a 1 1/2 year old 8 pt and let the 3 1/2 year old spike walk. It doesnt make much since to me.

it doesn't to me either, but i think it would be hard to regulate something like that. it is much easier to determine the number of points or spread of a buck in the field than his age.

WIth the MI regulations, you still get to shoot the spike first, just look at the deer on cars after opening day.

In PA, has to have atleast 4 points on one side. Except in some other counties where it is 3 points.

We have one in PA and it's awesome. Unfortunately, we have a significant number of idiots who can't seem to count points on a live deer, so they shoot first and count later.

Maybe we should give out an abacus or a plastic hand with numbered fingers to help them work out the tough math.
