I stuck 3 arrows in 2 different deer last year for two reasons. They were a) still alive and b) still in range.

I think Rob/PA shot his buck four times.

I can't think of a valid reason not to keep shooting.

To be honest I don't think I would be in the frame of mind to grab another arrow.I would be more concerned on getting a good look at where I hit him.

I tend to agree with "what do you have to lose?" It's like when Vicki Ciancirulo (sp?) shot that one moose. The arrow only went in so far, hit the opposite shoulder or leg bone and bounced out but was clearly a fatal heart shot. As soon as she shot and they saw the bull was just going to stand there the outfitter was saying "Shoot it again! Shoot it again!"

I think I'd do the same given the opportunity on any game.

if i can see it, and have a clear, SAFE shot at it i am going to give er heck...since you said XX it must be under 100. i havent practiced past 50 yet...but im going to start shooting 50 and 60 soon just to do it. if i can sink em on a paper plate at 60 a hair at 20 will look easy...

no reason NOT to send another arrow towards him. i rather have another one in there...more blood..more damage...maybe hes within what i practice and my hard work will pay off and i will drill him. but if you got a bad hit on him once 2 bad hits are better than 1 IMO

Any shot at a wounded deer ,that can be taken safely, is a good one!
Agree- But I would still feel better if it was at 50 or less.

Since the deer has already been hit, I would go with my fifty yard pin. If the deer hadn't been hit I would probably have to say my forty yard pin.

If I could get a shot from 0-40 maybe 50, I would shoot again. If the deer is out there anyfarther, first I'm going to see if it is going to lay down. If it is, im not shooting unless it looks like it might get up again. If its laying down I wouldnt shoot, I wouldn't want to take a chance at spooking him again. It would stiffen up and pass away shortly. However my maximum right now is 50.

I would take open shots out to 70 as long as it was clear and my first shot was more than just a flesh wound.
