Double-Bull Shoot-Through Netting
 

Anybody have any complaints on the shoot-through netting on a Double-Bull Blind. I bought one this summer so that I could take my son (3 and half years old)out scouting with me. It has been awesome for that. It's been worth the money just in great times already. I wasn't actually planning on hunting much with it, but the more I use it, the more I'm sold on it. Have taken some practice shots out of the windows, but never through the netting yet. I will, of course, before I use it. I shoot Grim Reaper's and was just wondering what to expect. Any feedback?

I dont know if the reapers will work or not. They dont use an o-ring do they? They would probly open when they hit the mesh.

The best thing would be to try it out in the yard. You will be able to tell by the hole in the mesh

Had a few minutes last night, so I tried it out in the yard.
The Grim Reapers open at the netting. However, it didn't effect the accuracy. At 20 yards I hit the 3" diamond every time. But it didn't feel right. The way the blades opened up, I felt like any moment I'd be putting an arrow in the side of the barn.

"Dear Muzzy, will you please take me back?"

IMO... only use a fixed. Wouldn't trust a mechanical.

I found out this past spring that the BLIND isn't a good shoot-thru option w/ a mechanical!

You guys that "don't trust mechs" should know that even the folks at Double Bull suggest ROCKET mechs for their shoot-thru mesh. You simply have to make sure that the model of mech features straight blade tips and NOT the "L" tip blades. Models like my fav for turkey, the Slammerhead 90, shoot flawlessly thru the mesh of my Matrix. My friends and I have tagged a boat load of Gobblers all shot through Double Bull mesh. I talked to Double-Bull yesterday and they recommended fixed, not mechanical. I asked specifically what models and no mechanicals even made their list in a private email. As I said after my "field test" the accuracy wasn't affected at 20 yards, even though the blades opened. I dont doubt your success though and will look into ROCKET. Thanks for the suggestion
