Cay4 - my bino's are only 10x. That scope is 32x. If I'd have taken pics through the bino's, the deer would've looked like field mice.

Oh well... One of these days when I hit the powerball, I'll buy some quality optics and camera gear - and raise the bar for my photographic expertise. For now, I'm busch league.

Looks like you had better luck at finding the deer than you did getting photos of them. J/K.

Congrats on hammering the spots down for this fall.

Haha that is an interesting way of spotting deer. Hopefully the warden doesnt pull up behind you!

Man it would be sweet to have a spotting scope with a digital camera on it!

Some decent bucks in there!! Good optics are expensive. Our crappy spotting scope doesn't cut it but will have to due for now. What's the spotting scope cost that you posted??

I'm with Tim on this one Fran.. Nice bucks you have there to hunt. I dont know if its just me or but since I've been a teammate of you and Ryan, the bucks in PA due the antler restrictions just seem to get better and better..?

Nice spotting scope you have posted there.. I'd love something like that for out here..glassing and shooting photos..

Hope the exam went well and best of luck here real soon on killing a big ole PA bruiser.. That Northeastern Region of the big buck contest is gonna be fun to follow..

There is nothing illegal in PA about ground hog hunting with a scoped rifle. If you happen to be looking at deer as well through it there is nothing a warden can do...........

I do the same thing with my ground hog gun only mine goes to only 14.5x power. It's still way more than my binocs and allows me to see what I am looking at out there till 4-500 yards and in.

If that was a leupold scope the pictures would be waaay better. I bet it's a simmons scope:D

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I really wish those pictures would've turned out a little better. There were some real nice deer in that herd, but I just didn't get them with their heads up. Bow season really can't some soon enough.

Tim - Bushnell makes one for $260'ish- that would really work for me, . 15-45x2 megapixel... Just found it for $165 on this site. Really fair price. http://www.spottingscopes.com/products/bushnell-bushnell-15-45x50-digital-imaging-spotter-31026.html



Celestron sells one for $500 - 3 megapixel - 70mm bell, so it probably hogs up the available daylight, but it's fixed at 14.5x, which isn't enough for really long range...
