Cat Whiskers

After shooting thru 2 pairs of string leeches in 3 days I decided it was time to try something new because I couldn't stand the sound of the string buzz the 337 had bare string. I saw a pack of cat whiskers for $1.47 for 2 pairs (4 of them) and I said why not. I threw them on the bow, went out, took one shot and my jaw dropped! Not only did it make the string quieter than being bare, it's quieter than it was with good leeches on it! I know they weigh less as well. All you leech shooters I STRONGLY recommend you try the cheaper cat whiskers.

You can get them just about anywhere, but your pro shop is your best option.

Cat whiskers work very well for silencing the string, they also slow your arrow down a little....

I just picked these up at Walmart. $1.47 for 2 pairs, not bad. ALl I can hear is a slight "slap" I guess when they hit the cable. Definately better than a BUZZ tho

I've been using them for years, wouldn't think of anything else. Just make sure they are cut down to about a half dollar after serving them on right. You don't want them too long.
When leeches first came out, I couldn't wait to get some,I didn't take long before removing them.

RE: Cat Whiskers

I heard this about cat whiskers before.

I got a Mean V and took the leeches off my Tribute. I shouldn't have. It was real quiet with
the Mean V (noticeable improvement), but when I took off the leeches I didn't like the sound.
Don't do it if you have Mean V and Tribute. The little gain in speed is not worth losing that
quiet thump sound! [&:] I was going to put on some Bow-Jax, but I've been looking at cat
whiskers due to weight, efficiency, etc.

Rev, what do you mean serving them on right? What do you do use and how do you get them tied
on right? I was going to get my bowshop to press and install, but would like to do it myself.

Any tips appreciated.

And they need to be cut to about an inch?

And they need to be cut to about an inch? And how do you serve something like that? I just thought you tied them on?
