Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
One of my friends was over last night with his new Bowtech Guardian. I have a range in the back yard, and did some shooting with the new bow. I normally shoot a Hoyt Pro Tec set at 60.7 lbs. This new Guardian was supposedly at 71 lbs. I didn't believe it. It didn't feel like it took any more effort to pull back as my 10 lbs. lighter Hoyt. Lacking the digital draw weight scale, we shot a couple of his arrows over my chronograph. 365 grain arrow athis 28" draw were going 289 fps. Yup, it's a 71 lb. bow. Amazing . . . . and the least amount of hand shock of any bow I have shot.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
Yup, I agree. jmbuckhunter was kind enough to let me shoot his once, and I was impressed as well. The MOST notable feature was the absolute ZERO hand shock, noise and vibration. His didn't even have a stabilizer on it....
I actually thought the draw cycle was a little rough, but not bad at all given the aggressiveness of the cam. Certainly not anything to complain about, and it wouldn't take long to get used to. |
RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
Its a great bow thats for sure. The more I shoot it the more impressed I am with mine.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
Im gonna have to shoot one of them soon.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
I've used my Guardian on the last couple 3d shoots I've attended... Just a pleasure to shoot all day since there's abolutely no handshock or vibration at the shot.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
I shot one Saturday. I'll have to own one of these one day.
I had a TOTALLY different opinion of the bow on the draw, though. The 60lb model felt like more. I wouldn't hunt with the 70lb version. |
RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
Most of the reviews I have seen on this bow did not rate its draw cycle as it's strongest point - the Mathews, on the other hand, seems to get rated very high in smooth draw. But for me, this bow felt like it couldn't possibly be 71 lbs. And I had just finished shooting for almost an hour with the Hoyt when Wes and his wife arrived with the new Bowtech. Maybe it's just something that my particular ergo's respond to.
I was also impressed with the fact that you apparently don't need a bow press to change strings, install peeps, etc. on this bow. Just back the limbs off until the string goes slack. |
RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
I HAVE BEEN HEARING ALOT OF GOOD STUFF ABOUT THIS BOW. I GOT TO TRY ONE.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
Just make sure you don't back the limb bolts out past the visual-indicator hole, Roskoe... I took one of my Guardians apart last month to get the cams dipped and reassembled it a few days ago with no press. Pretty slick indeed.

RE: Bowtech Guardian Test Drive
Since becoming a Bowtech dealer a few weeks ago I finally received mine about a week and a half ago and I can honestly say that this is by far the quietest, most shock and vibration free bowI have ever shot bar none.
IMHO it is the bow for 2007. |
