Bucks in the IL beans

Went out scouting in IL tonight to see what came out in the bean fields. I was there 2 weeks ago but they came out right at dark. Too late for pics and really couldn't see much. I think theylike the cooler weather and were out much earlier tonight.

Nice photos John.

Where those taken through a spotting scope or just straight zoom on the camera?

Yes, they are from the farm I hunt in IL. Now I just hope the rumors that everyone who applied for a tag will be getting one this year are true.

The pics are just with the cameras zoom. I had an idea where they were coming out into the field from my visit 2 weeks a go. So I sat in my truck on a field road next to a ditch. They came out a little closer than I thought they would. But didn't mind me being there. Then they just fed slowly away from me. Some pics are a little blurry because I was having a little trouble with buck fever (They give me the shakes even when I am not hunting them). Got some good video of them too.

Now I just have to figure out a way to get within bow range of them in about a month and a half. Season starts Oct. 1st.

How is your wife doing?
Some days are better than others. She has always had a weak stomach, and this has made it worse. Really has to watch what she eats or it upsets her stomach. She doesn't have a lot of energy, but she gets out of the house now and then with friends and we go out for short trips.

The once a month chemo has kinda been keeping her Lukemia in check, but it makes her feel a little blah for a week or so. Then she feels better for a couple of weeks usually.

Like one doctor told us, it is a roller coaster ride just don't get too high or too low.

When he sees these he is gonna start saving up for those expensive tags for next year. That is why I keep paying those high dollars for the nonres tags.

Troy - I won't personally be hunting this piece, but I know a few guys who will be. I was down in west central IL with Craig Neace this past weekend doing some scouting on a few of his properties. We saw an absolute TON of deer, and obviously some great bucks. He was the biggest of the big, but there were several other 140 class bucks in the field with him. It was simply an awesome night, and I was glad to just be there and have the chance to see those bucks.

Hopefully someone gets a crack at him this fall, even if it's not me.

Talk about Hijacking a thread!:D That buck makes mine look puney.[:@] You better make sure there are no poachers in that area, or he may be gone before the season starts.
