GMMAT Trail cam photos

I only had a couple that were of interest....out of 141, this past week.

I had JUST told the story about the deer I saw last year with the good left side and the "funky" right side in the "Mature bucks" thread. Could this be him? I have no idea.....but it would make sense (I have no experience in these matters).

And....for those that question how (in ONE manner) I age deer (here...with HERE being the caveat).....this is a "typical" 1.5yr old in MY woods.

Cool lookin buck- He may have been injured at one time.

You think the first buck is about 3-4?

Cougs...

To get to that type mass, here (and "that type" is relative to "here")....yes. Little sway in his back, too....

"I" would age this deer @ 3.5 or older in MY woods.

Jeff that spike has a little indentation right in the boiler maker:D

The older buck is a shooter for sure!!

That's what I would age him at too.

Would you let this deer walk this year? If you said he had junk sides last year, and it is genetic, is that something you want breeding? Of course this is all speculation that this deer is the same one you saw last year.

I hear ya, Germ. It's trips to the trail cam like this that make me look forward to hunting. My bow shop owner has seen a couple of deer he says are shooters, too (He lives on my road and watches the same bean fields I do). I'm doe hunting....but I'd shoot this deer for sure.

Couldn't this also be the same deer......but with a possible injury over the winter/spring?

Very well could be. Hard to say. If not you may have two nice bucks running around.

RE: GMMAT Trail cam photos

If this is the same buck......you can't believe what a transformation his body goes through between now and mid November. The one in the 7/25/06 photo is the buck I call "the bull". He looks like a racehorse when he's under your stand.

Look at him, here, beside another pretty good buck (for my woods). Look at the difference in their bodies.

This photo was taken exactly one year ago, today.

Nice pics GMMAT. Amazing how locations differ. I have very few spikes. Most ofthe 1.5 year olds that Isaw last year were forks or 6's. Although that could change because I had a bumper crop of fawns last year and haven't retrieve pics yet. I really need to up the doe that are taken from the property this year. Good luck this year and may a big one walk by.

Im sure he is impressive looking in the rut. He looks good in the pic.I would say that is the differance a year or two makes in a deer.

LOL..

That would depend if I'm having any luck up here. I wouldn't want to shoot "your" bucks anyway.

Jeff, that's a good looking deer with a lot of growing season yet, it'll be interesting how he finishes.

I can't tell you all how much of a bruiser this guy is compared to other "deer" here.

I don't get to see bodies like this on "deer" very often. THIS is what excites me about this guy.

RE: GMMAT Trail cam photos

size of the deer is like our "big" blacktails...lol.....most confuse our deer with a "beagle" or "poodle"....every now and then we get some that are as big as a "bull dog"...LOL
