Moose Charge Video
For those that don't get the Outdoor Channel you might want to check out the moose charge video at the link. Our editor Dwight Schuh and cameraman Larry D. Jones narrowly escaped injury when a bull moose charged while taping an episode of Bowhunter Magazine TV in the Yukon. If you do get the show this episode will air the week of July 30th.

Holy Schnikees! Now, that's entertainment. I would not have blamed the guy for peeing his pants. I don't know which would have been worse, holding for the shot as he kept slowly walking toward him or getting charged afterward!

Probably not the best shot angle in the world, but that's one heck of a video. There's no doubt I would've probably had a heart attack if a 2000 lb moose started running straight at me.

I have no real desire to hunt moose, but dang that looked exciting. What a rush that must have been. Kudos to the cameraman for getting as much of the charge on film as he did.

Absolutely amazing footage. Saw the preview the other day between shows. I have to say this is some of the most exciting footage of NA game I have seen on TV in quite some time. Moose with a bow is on the short list of guided hunts I want to do someday.............

That is awesome!
I was bluff charged by a moose about 10 yrs ago. It stopped about 5 yds short of me, after about a 50 yard charge! I never got scared as it was happening, (had a 30-06 in hand, and a bunch of big trees in front of me), but after the moose left I couldn't stop shaking for about an hour! |

I think he shot the moose in self defense.In that situation you can throw the bowhunter ed books out the window,however shooting an animal that is facing you is sometimes not a good idea.To answer an earlier question,they were calling the moose,grunting too him.During the rut they get very aggressive.

djeesssss, even though I allso thought it was a bad angled shot, he had to take it, if he didn't I think the bull would have grabbed him on his rack.
