Good Early Season Camo

I was thinking about going with the Green Deception from Predator for the early season this year.

I just wanted something with a lot of greens in it since I get to start hunting August 31st this year.

Does anybody else have any recomendations? Or has anybody used the green deception? Would I be wasting my money and just start off with something that I will be using all sesaon?

You lucky dog! August... I miss those days.

I wouldn't worry about having an excess of green in the camo. Unless you are hunting vast open areas (which you may be in ND). There are plenty of natural shadows in nature to give you dark colors.

I'm a fan of Natural Gear, and am anxious to see how Realtrees new AP and APG are going to fair in the fall.

I've used and own the camos mentioned above but the best camo I've found for any green conditons is Advantage Max-1, it's green overlays and gray background makes it one of the most versatile patterns I've EVER used. Cabela's has an entire line offered, check it out.

I use the same camo all year. Whatever is the cheapest on the shelf, and warmest.

As Greg/Mo is pictured above, I prefer Predator Spring Green over the Deception Green.

I was thinking about posting the same thread. I am looking at Some of the Skyline camo right now. Excel XTor Excel XTGreen for early Bow season. Sept. 8th in NC (;
Only know what I see in the Pics of the Excel. What is everyones opinion on Greener Camos for early season. I have a ton of Mossy Oak Stuff. Definitely moving away from it.

Any of them will do. I have a couple different early season patterns. They all work. THis is Apparition Green.

Greg/MO,

I thought you said Predator added the green to their patterns to please the consumer not to
fool the deer. ;) BTW, it's a sharp looking suit.

But I think if you are on a budget, you don't need to get a "green suit," just one open pattern
suit for all year (Predator, ASAT, Enigma). From what I've gathered from a bunch of these posts,
a bigger consideration than color would be the choice of how open you want the pattern to be,
e.g. whether you are hunting from the ground vs. up in a tree, where you will be silhouetted.

Any Reason not to wear Predator Brown Deception during early Bow season. I guess I am stuck on the idea of Green Leaves need green camo. Obviously I need to change my thinking. I'm hiding from a deer, not from you!

I think Predator Brown deception would do fine for all season use in a treestand.

Predator Fall Grey also looks like a great pattern for treestand hunting.

I'm going with Predator Fall Gray this year. From what I have gathered,as others have said, the openness of the pattern is probably more important than the color.

WOW Davidmil! A picture with a real deer not just a chalk outline. I thought that was against your style?

The best camo? Sitting still!

Well I was hoping to fool peoples eye, because I will be hunting Minnesota too. And for starters I don't have the money for an out of state license, and I will be hunting on privately owned land that I don't have permission to hunt on.

Just jokin, I didn't know it didn't matter wether it was green or not.
