Hunting Age
 

New York is not a very good place for hunting for 2 main reasons,

1. You have to be 14 to hunt with a bow for deer.

2. There are many regulations that are non existant in other states.

I watch TV shows and see kids like 6 years old hunting deer with muzzleloaders. It drives me crazy because i have been waiting for 4 years to hunt with a bow.

With my set like my dad doesn't hunt but my uncle does i dont get out much and in new york u have to be with an adult till ur 16.

What is the minimum hunting age for deer in your state?

In North Dakota you have to be 14. I think thats a good age. I think alot of places are twelve I think thats ok. I dont really agree with letting people under 12 deer hunt.

In P.A. it's 12, but you have to be with an adult 18 or older until you're 16

bow hunt deer at 10 and gun hunt at 12 in Michigan. New laws as of last year. It was 12 and 14

It is 10 to hunt here provided you are with an adult until the age of 16. At 16 you have to go through a hunters safety course for archery or gun hunting as they have seperate courses..

No minimum legal age in Texas. But the catch is you have to have a hunter ed certificate to get a license and you aren't eligible for certification until you're 12.

Im in Western New York. There are some big deer but my trophy this year will be any animal i take with my bow.

In Fla. I don't think there is any age for bow and as long as they are under adult supervision,any age with gun. You have to be 16 for hunter safty course so once your 16 you have to pass that to go huntin.
