RE: Kill scent on Rubber Boots??
Sometimes I think it is because the inside of the boots stink really bad (like mildew).
So when you walk it pushes that air out with every step and you leave scent. If I can smell mildewed boots in my closet, there's no reason a deer can't smell that. I wear X-Scent socks and put my boots on at the truck and then spray them down with scent killer. Seems to work. |
RE: Kill scent on Rubber Boots??
Yes I tuck my pants inside the boots. I usually put my boots on when I get to where I'm hunting. But do sometimes where them when driving. Never while at the gas station. But I'm sure there is some scent on the floor board. I will do what ya'll have suggested and clean them up good and use some kind of cover scent with it.

I thought this is why you wear rubber boots.[8D]

RE: Kill scent on Rubber Boots??
I had trouble with deer scenting me until bought Lacross rubber boots. No trouble since then. I don't know why they are scenting you unless you have a car freshner in your vehicle. Rubber doesn't hold or drop scent unless it is attached to the rubber treads. Your problem is an easy fix as soon as you figure out what is causing it...
