TrailTimers....

This item sounds interesting in that it is a cheap way to try out and monitornew trails or areas if you don't have a lot of trail cameras to bounce around. They are $17.50.

Has anyone tried one of these:

Most hunters' use this low cost, single event unit for checking out those newly found trails, special hot spots or new baits. It's great for determining peak movement times and direction of travel. Once a hot area or active bait is located and timed, customers usually upgrade to one of our easy to use infrared units or camera systems.

I use trail timers all the time. I put out 5 bear baits, and have 3 cameras. They are a great, cheap way to moniter animal activity.

Just the sensor, unless i cannot tell if it is a bear hitting or not, that is when i will throw up a cam.

Thanks outdoormanafiakp.... do you have the TT-100 and overall how have you liked it if you have that one? From what I have read it senses the peak times of animals passing by or in front of the sensor and can tell the direction their mainly going?Just tryingto figureoutwhat exactly itdoes.

Im sure they work alright, i would just rather have pictures for a small amount more

Thats the one! It works well, tells me what i want to know, when the animals come to the bait. Thinking about trying it for deer this year, not a real need however, since i'm always moving trail cams. If you do buy one what is your intent? To moniter deer travel times?

Me too, but i use mine during bear season, two of my three cameras have flash and that tends to spook the bears a little, around my parts anyway.

EDIT: I AM ALMOST CERTAIN THAT I BOUGHT MY TRAIL TIMERS FOR WAY LESS THAN 17.50! I think i paid that for two actually.
