shooting help

I have been practicing for the up coming season. I wonder how many arrows do you shootbefore youcall it quits. Also how many of you do your arrow go where you dont want it each time. I say out of 12 arrows maybe 3 dont go where I want them.

RE: shooting help

I shoot until I start shaking and have trouble holding steady. Somtimes it's 25 shots and sometimes it's closer to 100. Lately I've been shooting in the mornings when I get home from work, after 25-30 shots I'm done and ready for bed.

As for wild arrows, just keep practicing. Depending on your setup, you might need to check the knock rotation of the arrows. If that's good, then number your arrows. If it's always the same arrows, inspect and compare them to the others, then correct the problem or stop shooting the bad ones. Also, try replacing the knocks on the bad ones. Sometimes it helps.

Mine is almost identical to this one. I work nights, so I shoot a little when i get home. I usually quit after about 30-50 shots b/c by 9:00am it is just too hot.

One thing that may be causing you to throw arrows off is fataque (sp).

Generally, what I like doing is shooting the first shot....to me, this first shot is pretty much all you are going to get.....not saying that all the others aren't important....its just my opinion.....

if i can take my bow out of the case and on a consistant basis (daily basis) and hit right where I am aiming at 40yds...then i am pretty confident that i can kill a deer.

I should really count how many arrows I shoot one of these days.

I shoot a lot, and by alot, I mean almost every day. I'll shoot a handful of arrows before work, if I take my bow to work with me I'll shoot another handful during my shift, and then I'll shoot a bit more after I get home.

Generlly I'll shoot probably a dozen times or so each time I shoot. I don't let the weather affect whether I shoot or not, either. I'll shoot in the rain, snow, heat, everything.

I just love shooting.

Hey Dan, I'd like to switch weather with you for a month or two.:D Sometimes when I shoot, it's so flippin hot and muggy, that after a couple dozen arrows I feel like I've jumped in a pool of Slick 50.[:@]

BTW, my Flashpoint is on order at my local shop.
(sorry deerhunter, not trying to hijack)

Man, I don't know, its been in the high 90's lately and its been hell. I definitely appreciate the fact that I work in an air conditioned building rather than outside all day. :D

Awesome choice with the Flashpoint. You won't be disapointed.

I generally shoot between 20-24 arrows 2-3 times a day about everyday.

Dan: Does it even rain in Washington:eek:

Not frequently on this side of the state, fortunately. ;):D

But when it does rain here, we get it for about three to seven days solid.

Complaining about heat. Come to South Carolina. 95+ with the heat index of 100-110. Did I mention that those temps are an almost everyday norm. for July and August.

I will say that the GA guys have it rough. Man, talk about heat and humidity. [:@][:@][:@]
