Best miss on Video

As you can tell I am bored out of my skull. My wife and daughter are in Wis. You know i have not seen old peak logged in this weekend[:@] Peak stay away from my wife:D

Just my 18 month old son and I and he does not hold a conversation very well yet. He likes horse rides and i am wore out:D.

What is you favorite miss on video I have two. Here is one:

Bill Jordan is hunting in Idaho, he is hunting a buck called stickers. He gets a shot the first night. He shoots right over the deers back, when he turn around to look at the camera you can see he is clearly rattled by this buck. I would like to seen how big that deer was to rattle Jordan like that.

I seen one where I think he was hunting in Kansas. He was on the ground and a nice buck comes along and when he shot, his arrow hit a strand of the barbedwire fence that was between him and the deer.

When I saw the title of the thread that scene was the first to come to mind. That was an amazing shot, but I'm not suprised he missed. I don't believe hes a very good shot with a bow.

On one of the Primos truth bowhunting videos, Keith Burgess hit a small limb and his arrow pretty much exploded into a million pieces. It was pretty funny to see his face after his arrow pretty much disenegrated.

My favorite isn't even a miss, it was more of an "almost shot."

It was on one of the Primos "Truth" videos.

Chris Ashley is hunting mule deer [I forget where exactly} but we're shown the stalk, and when Chris is about 35 yards from the bedded buck, he [Ashley] slowly turns to look at the camera man to make sure he'll get the shot on film.

As Chris turns, the bedded deer jumps up and begins to bound away. When Chris turns to draw and shoot, he finds that his "sure thing" is no longer so sure.

The first Drury "Monster Bucks" video where Don Kisky misses that booner at about 10yrds.........I'll never forget that near suicidal look on his face.

The buck called stickers was shot at in wyoming..at seven j outfitters. That would be the worst thing ever, a buck that caliber and to just blow the shot. The primos one was pretty good too. I also remember a video I think by Realtree, the camerman is on a deer and the hunter shoots, and the camerman keeps telling him that he missed cuz the deer is still standing. Well it turns out the hunter shot a different deer.

That was a monster he missed in that video.

I would say my fav. miss(es) would be Troy Ruiz on thePrimos video not only missing one deer, but if I remember correctly he misses three bucks on one stand while having deer pushed his way. I'm amazed he is still into archery after that dishearting day.

Alex Rutlege misses a booner after rattling when the buck was only 25 yards away that he didnt see, then bounds off and stops....right over him.He is also a bad shot, he seems to screw one up every year.

On the drury videos, its either Dream Season 9 or Whitetail Madness 9, anyways theres a guy hunting in texas and he misses a huge buck with a couple drop tines. Then about 30 minutes later a doe brings him right past the stand again and he kills it. 180" NT i think it scored.

That's easy for me... Alex Rutledge on a Booner he rattled in on one of the Prime Time videos which came in so fast he was unprepared for the "gimme" shot which followed.

I think my favorite miss would have to be when Jackie Bushman misses an ELK at about 17 yards(if memory serves)and a complete broadside shot.Everything was perfect except the shot.

Probably because I hate that show and can't stand his style of doing things.

RE: Best miss on Video

My favorite is one of my own. I had yet to take a buck on video and when this decent buck come walking down a alfalpha field with the camera rolling. At 19 yards the buck stops, puts his head down to field, total broadside, leg forward and I released. I was rattled and watched him run down the field as the camera man follows. When the deer stopped the camera turned back to me, I asked what he was doing the buck was going to drop right there. He shook his head NO, your missed. I said no way....grabbed my binos with this odd look on my face and as I glassed the buck I saw no hole....just roughed up back hair.

In slow motion if you place a bullseye on the top of that deers heart, you'll see my arrrow hit that exact bullseye, problem was the deer dropped out from under it.....at 285 fps out of that bow, at 19 yards, the deer dropped under the arrow and it barely scrapes his back. Amazing animals.

Greg / MO and Matt can back that story. :D They've see the footage. ;)

I saw one just the other day....... guys were Elk hunting and called one in. To 3yds but it was almosta head on/slightly quartering to. 2 more steps and the bull would have been broadside. The shooter was visibley shaken but the first thing he said was........'should I have shot, I know he was ata bad angle but the boys are gonna laugh at camp'. I disagree he did the right thing and damn what a RUSH that must have been.

my favoriteis from the truth 2 bowhunting video when Will misses one in Iowa thathe calledright to the treethat he couldnt shoot because troy couldnt get the camera on it and he ended upshoooting a tree. then a few days later Dean Davis hunts that same stand andmisses the same buck... the only thing thatcoulda made this better is if they hit the same tree:D

I saw that one too crabclaw. He was definetly rattled. hehehe I saw oneon realtree road trips the other night where Michael Waddell missed one at 30 yards. Then turned around and killed one not30 seconds later...

My favorite wasn't a miss. Terry Drury in Madness 2. Calls in a big 8 and when he draws the buck has got him pegged so Terry holds at full draw until he can't hold it anymore and lets down real fast and the buck takes off. A few minutes later the buck comes back behind a hot doe and he draws again and tries to stop him and the buck takes off again. He turns around with this dumbfounded look on his face and says "I guess that buck wasn't meant to die" and then you hear Mark who is filming start laughing! You have to watch it to enjoy it...

I agree the old Stickers miss was a classic from someone that obviously is better than that. Alex Rutledge has had a bunch of misses and bad hits over the years. The boy just can't settle down it appears. LOL Another years ago was Steve Bartkowski hunting with Real Tree I believe at "The Preserve". Missed a slam dunk by 2 feet.

I am going to have to agree with Matt/pa....I believe we were in college at the time and we saw that video together..............the buck was in the wide open and you could just about pee on him.............and air mailed right over his back..........I could not beleive it:(I was sick for him in fact I turned to Matt and asked if actually missed that deer...............are you sure..........of course we rewound the tape I still think about that.

"Stickers" is always a good one to watch, Bill jordans face is priceless.

Another one with Bill Jordan that is good is when he is hunting with his son and this monster comes out and his son misses a wide open broadside shot with his rifle and at first Bill is like "Oh man, it's O.K., don't worry about it....." the there is this longsilence and he goes "Man T, that was a really big buck." And the clip ends right after that.

Greg Miller missed a huge 180 class buck standing in a field in one of the older Realtree videos and you can tell he just wanted to scream and bang his head against the tree. It was classic.

There was a hunt on Primos "The Truth 14" I think.
It was the video where the guy forgot to press record on one of the earlier hunts. Anyway later in that video a hunter has these two massive bucks come in from different directionsand they are posturing and trying to intimidate each other and then they both leave, the whole timethe hunter can never get a shot off and it lasts for several minutes. He didn't miss but I can imagine he was about to lose his mind sitting in the middle of that.

Bill Jordans miss on stickers was classic. Thats what happens when you drop your bow arm!

I think one of the greatest displays of sorry marksmenship I have ever seen was on TRUTH 2, when Troy Ruiz "cut a little pulp wood" with his bow in Montana.... three misses ON THE SAME HUNT!

There was another hunt on one of the older Mossy Oak videos, where a gent was tucked up behind a rock wall, went to shoot at the deer, you hear a ZING and see the arrow go whizzin off to the right.... sure enough... shot the rock wall no more than 6 feet in front of him!

I don't know the name of the video, but there was a guy bowhunting elk. The guy was behind a small pine tree, U could hear the elk coming & bugling. Then there it was, about 5-10' broadside from this hunter. He was so freaked that he began 2 shake, & shook so bad U could hear the arrow clicking on the rest. Buckfever doesn't even describe it. He never got a shot off, & was completely freaked when it left. Never forgot that1!
