Rage Broadheads
Well I was just watching some hunting show on the OD channel. The guy shot a buck with a Rage BH. It had the biggest entry hole I have ever seen.
Anybody have any pics of deer they shot witha rage head? |
RE: Rage Broadheads
I have them with the Snyper, huge entry holes and impressive exits....same head! .

RE: Rage Broadheads
Rob I could have stuck my and in there[&:] I was impressed

RE: Rage Broadheads
I'm more than likely going to use them this year. My quiver will probably have them AND the mx-3's in it too.

RE: Rage Broadheads
Agreed Germ, the holes impress me with each animal I take with them.

RE: Rage Broadheads
They have HUGE holes, i just ordered some this last week.

RE: Rage Broadheads
This was from a hammerhead. And the pic really doesn't do it justice.Don't tell me they don't open on impact!:)
I saw that too. Those angled shots with mechanicals leave one hell of a hole. ![]() |
RE: Rage Broadheads
I like the Crimson Cuda mechanical, but might switch to the Rage Expandable. For the record the Crimson hasn't failed me I just like how the Rage works. Some of us by in to advertisment. Excuse me I mean alot of us!

RE: Rage Broadheads
I am sure most have seen these already, but I will post them again anyhow. The doe pic was the least impressive of the entrance holes on 3 deer I shot last year with the 2 blades. Don't have pics of the others except the heart pic below. That heart is being held together by about 1" of tissue. That buck was quartering at quite a distance and therage 2 blade made an honest 6" entrance hole because of the angle. It took out a couple ribs on the entrance, and sliced through the thin part of the shoulder blade on the other side for a complete passthrough at 43 yards. They are impressive to say the least, I will be using them again as a primary head this year.

RE: Rage Broadheads
I was shooting roughly 71lbs of KE last year with these. The doe was a perfect broadside heart shot that passed through skipping 20+ yards on the ground behind her before stopping, and the other buck I shot last year was another quartering away that went in behind the last rib and passed through just behind the far shoulder at about 17 yards. Penetration even when I hit ribs and shoulder blades was as good as any fixed head I have used, they seem to waste a lot less energy opening than traditional large diameter heads. The Vortex heads I used to shoot back in the day didn't penetrate like these do.

RE: Rage Broadheads
i was watchin the same show today... the guy was scared he made a bad shot but with the hole that broadhead left it wouldnt of mattered where you hit that thing!
|
RE: Rage Broadheads
Im shooting around 75-76 lbs of KE.
|
RE: Rage Broadheads
I was at 72, if I were to shoot those I would want to be in the 70's
|
RE: Rage Broadheads

RE: Rage Broadheads
I'm pretty sure that if I pry myself away from the Crimson Cuda's it will be the 3 blade rage. This broadhead seems awesome the concept is also awesome. Definitley not scared of trying it and because it's an expandable I can still feel comfortable about the increased accuracy of expandables.

RE: Rage Broadheads
I have been reading that some of the celebrity bow hunters have been using these out of bows with draw weight in the 50's, and still getting real good results. My experience, which so far doesn't include any live animals, has been that they will open up going through a piece of cardboard. Doesn't take much KE.
