Steel Force Broadheads
Ever used these?
Did they fly good? Was there good penetration? Very accurate? What model would you recommend? |
RE: Steel Force Broadheads
I have used them and was pretty happy with them. WICKED sharp out of the package! They flew well, about like any other head of the same size.
I would look for the ones without the serrated edges. I never got that concept for broad heads. You want the cleanest cut you get, and that is not what serrated blades do. I also can't see it helping your penetration. I thought the quality of the product was pretty good as well. Much like using a nice knife blade on your arrows as opposed to using a stamped thin piece of metal with an edge put on it. In all honesty though I have just as good of luck with a three blade Thunderhead or something similar. Paul |
RE: Steel Force Broadheads
I know they penetrate well. I found an arrow wearing a Steelforce that'd snaked under the grass way out behind the 30 yard target on our club's practice range - a Morrell Outdoor Range bag target - after it had blown a big hole in that target. Never did catch the rat who did it. Still got the broadhead though, and it's still scary sharp.

RE: Steel Force Broadheads
great!

RE: Steel Force Broadheads
I only owned one pack of them to try out. I didn't get anymore for several reasons, none of them being a qaulity issue. They were a bit pricy for me, the ones I wanted were a bit hard to find and I like a more compact head like small mechanicals or the Ultimate Steel type heads.
If I were start shooting traditional I would seriously rethink using them. Paul |
RE: Steel Force Broadheads
alright, thanks for the input.

RE: Steel Force Broadheads
If I wasn't so computer dumb I'd send a picture of a certified on the scales 300lb buck I shot through the shoulder blade with a SF 100gr. It poked through the skin on the opposite side of this beast and gave me a much needed exit hole. The wind was thirty mph gusts and the arrow flew very true. I have shot them since we first saw them at the AMO (now ATA) show years ago. Phenomenal. Get your bow tuned well and they fly great.
