Any southerners see typical peak rut stuff?
 

I ask this because this weekend I saw a young buck chasing the crap out of a doe. I also saw several other doe running like a buck was chasing them, but I never saw him. My bro-in-law was talking to his buddy who hunts Mississippi and he said that they're just getting to peak rut. He says that the rutting activity is just now starting, where all scientific and traditional info says it should be over now, with maybe a less intense second rut. I admit that what I saw during the traditional rut time was pretty mild, and the movement could be attributed to guns as much as anything. Am I missing something?

This year was weird down south .I hunt georgia and the first rut was late by about one week . I think allabamas rut is in january .
