Glen dell buck is killing all my arrows.
 

Ok I am at my wits end with this target. My buddy has one also with the same problem. This thing destroys arrows. If you hit slightly low like in the brisket area ( this is practicing at 40 plus yds.) It breaks the arrow everytime. Apparently The company who desigined this thought it would be a good idea to put a metal bar through there. I have no lie shattered 6 CX maxima hunters in this spot. My buddy has one and has broken about 4 gold tips. Our other friend has one , and guess what, same thing. Now don't get me wrong this is not a common hit for any of us, just happens once in awhile, maybe being a bit tired and dropping your arm after shooting for awhile. Either this is the issue, or my arrows are very fragile, as they are the only ones that have shattered. Now the above has taken about 3 months to happen, I am just venting, never had a target eat arrows like this thing does. I am seriously thinking of throwing it out and going back to a Mackenzie. Any of you experience this?

instead of throwing it out wouldnt it be easier to take a sawzall and as a last resort try to take the metal out?

Buy yourself a Morrell Bionic Buck... best 3D target out there, and your worries are solved. ;)

I haven't heard anything about it myself, but to be honest, I don't know anyone that shoots one. That sounds incredibly aggravating though....

Questions for you guys with these targets....

What happens when you're shooting broadheads and don't hit the layered foam area of your target?

Wha happens when you shoot BH's into the layered portion from an elevated position? Does it damage the layers......due to the angle?

In the full rut one you switch the vitals to where they are vertically grained just for that.

Guess I've just been lucky...been shooting mine (I don't have the Full Rut, regular version) for about a year and no problems to report.

Stop hitting the brisket! Youre not supposed to be hitting the brisket anyway!

I have the Glen Del Buck 3D Target and I never had a problem with it.
It handles field tip and broadheads very well , can't recall ever hitting the brisket area.

Ive had the problem! Probably shattered 2-3 arrows in the last 3 years!

My cousin's Easton ACC's have hit it and never been damaged...

I think most targest must be designed that way. I have a cheap Delta
3-D target. If you hit low in the brisket or down toward a front leg there is hard plastic in there. Have broken arrows on mine. I usually break or bend mine when trying to get them out. You know when you hit it by the sound.

I havent had that problem with mine but will keep that in mind..fortunately I havent hit the briscuit yet... (knock knock)... I did have to replace the open layers with a layered block. I kept blowing right through the open layers tiles..

Most 3D deer targets have a metal pole up through the leg to the shoulder/brisket area for support. Not much you can do but try to avoid it. I guess that would be good incentive to aim carefully at longer distances and quit when you get tired.

I havent had that problem with mine I have shot it for 2 years but the cheap Delta I had before would destroy arrows if you did'nt hit the vital area.

I had the same problem. If you hit the insert like your suppose to it wont happen. Personaly I have had it happen only once and it was at 80 yards screwing around. The glendel full rut target has a huge insert, if you cant hit it consitently you need to practice a bit more at a closer distance.

If I shoot low on my Mckenzie ( just graze a leg or the belly). It will kick my aluminum arrow down and bend it at a 45 everytime. This shooting at 40 and 50 yards is getting a mite expensive.:eek::D
