Settle a debate for me, guy wants to know if they work; will they stop a fast arrow out of a modern compound? My experience is that an arrow will blow easily through a square bale and either blow all the way through a big round bale or bury in the middle. Any haybale shooters out there still? No traditional bows, only modern compounds are at question.

Just tell him yes it may stop your arrow but it will deffinitely ruin your feathers or vanes.

It doesn't stop mine. My friend shot an arrowinto a round bale, and had to wait until the livestock ate down to the arrow.

I use them only as a back-up. If I get a pass through on a bag, block, or 3-D it will stop the arrow. On its own I'll be looking for my arrow in the vacant lot next door.

I used to use haybales, in like 1985 with a bear whiletail hunter. It usually stopped them pretty good. Kinda moved one since then to at least some foam something or another.
