RE: Favorite type of tree to hunt out of
For me, it would have to be a giant blue or white spruce. Tuck into it, and they will never see you with so many limbs. You can trim a hole for the stand and be completely concealed from ground. Great smell too!

ORIGINAL: Germ I put my stand in a walnut tree once, that was a big mistake. I hada lump on my head for a week[:@] When those walnuts hit your stand, man to they make noise |

A nice tall oak. Besides it being a wonderfully sturdy tree, deer like them, and the acorns cover a bit of your scent.

RE: Favorite type of tree to hunt out of
A fat straight tall one with no limbs for 25' and a good back ground when using my climber :D I like a thick pine, we have tons of those. There is also something about a sycamore than turns my crank also.

ORIGINAL: Germ Tree type is not as important as cover. Here is acherry tree. I love this tree because of how well I am hidden. I really like 3 trucks if I can find one.
A real good tree for me to place a stand should have enough limbs to provide good cover and break up my outline. |
