I got my bow back

I got my bow back from the shop today after 3 weeks and a couple of headaches. The bow,( '05 Diamond Victory), had a split in the lower limb. The dealer that I bought the bow from is no longer an authorized dealer so I took it to another shop. First I was told it would take about a week. OK, I asked if they would order me 60# limbs rather than the 70s that were on it. No problem I'm told, should take about a week. 1 week goes by and I give them a call. The limbs are not in yet. a few days later I call again, " Should be in by Friday", is the response I get. That Friday,2 weeks after dropping off the bow, I call again. "Yes they are in, I'll put them on right now". OK, I hop in my truck and head to the shop.5 minutes later my phone rings. I was told that the new limbs were cracked. The shop employee told me Bowtech must have screwed up. I think maybe someone screwed up with a press, but that is speculation on my part. Today, 3 weeks after dropping my bow off at the shop I called Bowtech customer service and explained the situation. I was told they would look into the situation. 10 minutes later my phone rings and it is the shop, my bow is ready. I went and picked it up, made some adjustments and it is shooting great.
For my troubles Bowtech gave me the 60# limbs I asked for and a pair of 70# limbs as well. I think the shop ordered the wrong limbs the first time and that resulted in waiting 2 weeks for the first set to get to the shop. I'm not really sure what all happened. This I know, after calling customer service things happened fast and I got the extra set of limbs.
The shop could have done a better job of letting me know what was going on. All in all I'm happy now. It was frustrating to keep getting the date bumped like that. I'm pleased with Bowtechs response and rapid resolution to this problem.

RE: I got my bow back

I sorta know what you went through. About a month ago I ordered a G5 Optix ME Sight from my local proshop. They said ok it will be shipped the next bussiness day. Three weeks pass and no call from them. So I call in and they said that The G5 plant had a huge manufacturer break down and they couldn't get my sight for another month. So nowI have to wait untill the end of June to get my sight. I wanted to have been shooting by now but it all turns to Murpheys law for me.I really do not like my proshop but it is the only one near me. They are not helpful, do not let us shoot different bows if we want to buy a new one, and are just plain miserable. I hate going there but it is the onl place I can get stuff unless I order off the internet which is what I like to do now. And for all of my tuning needs I come here and ask you guys. Thats why I love this site.

I'm glad you finally got your bow back and I think it's great that they even threw in the extra limbs. Some of these shops rally need to either train their people better or hire people that are on the ball.

Is the shop a retail store? Customer service in general just isn't what it used to be. Especially in retail stores. I think most places figure, "What are you going to do about it?", when they don't get things done in a reasonable time.

My pro shop so far has been on top of everything when it comes to helping me out.

Glad to hear that you're back in the saddle. I had similarly good response from BowTech customer service when I worked as a dealer.

Coming from someone who works in a retail store, this isn't true in all cases.

I know that myself and the people I work with [in my department in any case] work just as hard to make our customers happy as do the employees at local pro shops. In fact, we have to work twice as hard to gain their confidence because of the comments like thatmade on boards like this. ;)

Facts are facts though Wash. Ask anyone over the age of 30 how things are compared to even 10 yrs ago and see what they say. Many people just want to collect a pay. They don't see their job as helping people but more as people as an inconvenience.

I spent the first 10 years of my working life in customer service and am generally appalled at how people are treated now and also worked with people that had that attitude.

More blame should be placed on people like that and not on a post like mine. ;)

I thought that any poundage below 70# was for chipmunks and small birds.:D

Yeah obviously squirrels are too big for that. I was actually talking to Bowtech about making me 110# limbs for an Allegiance, with speed mods, able to use 3.2gpi arrows. They said they'd get back to me on it, but I haven't heard back. Should I be concerned? I figured 110# might be too low but I wanted to save my shoulder. [&:][8D];):D

Wash, I would have to agree with this. I not saying that there are not people like you, that care. But most dont seem to give a sh!t. To them it's just a pay check! Sad but true. They have no pride in what they do.

Have you shot it through a chronograph yet? If so how does it compare to the other limbs you had?

Yes, I did. With the 70# limbs backed out to 65# I was shooting 268 fps. With the 60# limbs bottomed out at 62# It averaged, (3 shots),266 fps. I can live with the 2 fps loss. The bow is much quieter. My DL is 29", and my arrows weigh 424gr.

This is why I always tell people that shoot there lims at 65# there better off shooting60# limbs maxed. You are pulling 3# less and lost 2fps not a bad trade.
