I agree, interesting. It reminds ofa quote from a movie I had seen:
"The man who said "I'd rather be lucky than good" saw deeply into life. People are afraid to face how great a part of life is dependent on luck. It's scary to think so much is out of one's control. "
I think this holds true for deer hunting. Can you gofulfill all the necessary requirements for being in the presence of a mature whitetail buck and ensure one will come by? I think you greatly increase your chances, but that is all you have control over.
Luck does play a part. I wonder how much?
Maybe it is indirectly proportional to the efforts you put in: the more you work to increase your chances the less dependant on luck you will be, etc.
