I've got my bow!

Hi everyone,
I finished school last week and, friday, my father gives me his bow, which he can't draw because of an old injurie.

I'm so happy, it's not like a drenalin or the Element, but it was free and i've already shoot with it a liltle bit`. I cant keep my money and, next or in 2 years, buy a new one.

Little vid, just for fun!:D

thanks

Francis,

That looks like a newer version of my old Alpine Sierra Magnum.
Slow and loud, but very accurate, at least when it was tuned.

I fixed mine up and used it last year, but had to upgrade for this year.

You need to show up all us guys with the fancy new bows.

Is that a Hoyt? I will tell you this, it is quiet, forgiving, and if you hit them right it will shoot right through them.

Have fun and dont let quik give you crap over the pull poundage!

I can tell now, it'sa York. (second look)

Francis,

I put those on my old bow and they made a little difference.
For $20, I would get the S-Coil first (or both).

BassPro has a Sims Kit, which seems good for the money and should
quiet the bow down some (but don't expect miracles):

Good luck.

Thanks a lot, i'm not having a BassProShop where I'm living, but tomorrow I'll take a ride to my archery shop. I'll come back with the information. Hope that it will not be too expensive[X(]

I've, again:D, a little question for you.
Some people, who have seen my vid, are saying that my draw is too long. What do you think about that. (My technique changed, it's a picture of 2-3 month ago)

congrats on the new bow your draw length in that pic does look a little long have the archery shop measure you to see if it fits the bow

RE: I've got my bow!

I would say that it does look long. It looks like your arm that is holding the bow is straight, and still the DL is long so tomorrowwhen you go to your archery shop have themmeasure your draw length and make the adjustment for you. I like to rest my first knuckle and and thumb on the bottom of my cheekbone at full draw. It doesn't look like you could do that with that draw length on your bow. JMO tho.

LebeauHunter 06-25-2007 05:31 PM

RE: I've got my bow!

I don't think it is that much too long, but that is just my opinion.
Are you still growing?

I don't know if I agree with what redneck said, it looks to me like your left arm does have proper bend, but its hard to see with clothing.

If you feel comfortable with it and shoot good with it, it aint too long!:D

I've draw my bow this morning (with my fingers) and the kisser is touching the "corner" of my mouth (When i'm "full draw").

Hi all,
I've shot some arrows on the archery field, and there's the vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA68MF71Bno

I've not take a picture of it (and I should have took one), I've shot, at 20 meters, 3 arrows in 1" of diameter.

For my bad group, like i've written in the vid, there was a lot of mosquitos (It was almost impossible to shoot)

Hope you like it

Francis

Does the string hit your arm alot when you release, if so your draw length maybe just a tad to long.

maybe 1 shot on 6 hit my arm. But I can't set my draw correctly, the cams are not adjustable[>:][:@]... Next year i'll buy my bow..., I'm having a year to save money.

From what I know you live in an awesome place to bowhunt, you are starting a sport that if you concentrate you will enjoy for many years. You have a year to save an a year to decide what bow you want. When does the bow season start up there? Oh yea an good luck this coming season.

Can't beat a free bow. Looks like you have plently of arrows too. Might have to cut the grass to find them if you're off target.;)

What is the draw weight currently set on? At 20 metersI would think that arrow should penetrate that target...no matter how compressed it is.

#50, yeah, i know. At the archery field, there was "tentest" target, and the arrow was going 6" deep. That's weird.

Welcome to the world of bowhunting. You couldn't ask for a better group of guys then you will find here to help you along the way. BTW, your draw does look a tad long, but I have seen much worse. Congrats on the bow and welcome to a life long addiction. It only gets worse form here;)
