Huntingnet Hall of Fame

I remember a few times, Greg/MO went out of his way to pass out special awards for outstanding posts, outstanding contributions to the HNI board.

Along those same lines, I'm wondering what you guys think were your all-time favorite threads or posts. We're not just talking about an informational standpoint either - this can definitely include your favorite threads, from anentertainment perspective...

Feel free to blow up the search engine, dig through the archives, call admin on the phone, rekindle old battles, etc.

Just find the thread, tell us why it was awesome, then copy and paste the link in here. Also I forget what Greg's awards were called, but if you remember, somebody should search for them all and post the links here. There were some really good ones.

It's Friday, my desk is clear and I'm bored.

We should have an "awards" show at the end of each year. Besides our who will shoot the biggest buck threads, we could have various other categories.

-Most likely member to make you spit your drink at the monitor

-Most likely member to give you nightmares about blue underwear

-Best Kiss Up to Admin

-Best tank top photo

-Member who starts the most 10+ page threads

-Member most likely to turn a simple post into a 10+ page thread

-Most use of the quote button (this will just be called the atlasman award)

-Member who is likely to flop sides on either (broadheads, camo or the heavy vs low bow draw debates)

-Best spooner

-Ethics police award

-Award for the person who kills a deer at the farthest distance

...and I don't know which thread it was, but Hiawatha said "If I ever get in trouble and need a lawyer, I'm calling Atlas." That little quote always stands out in my mind as being one of the funniest things ever.

Should there be a category for "Best Rant," or "member most in need of attending anger management classes?"

"most likely" or most "in need of"?

Big difference.

And to be fair... the Honorary Rack Award for Outstanding Post (HRAOP) wasn't my idea; it was used when I joined the board seven years ago by Rob. I just wanted to "revive" it a little :)

I like Robs recovery thread. It helped me alot from an informational standpoint. The early Bullothole clan posts always ended in me laughing.

RE: Huntingnet Hall of Fame

Yep, you gotta throw Rob's recovery thread in there... as well as Matt's "how to take a proper photo" thread and Frank's "be proud of what you shoot" thread

Edited to put links to the aforementioned threads in.

Rob's recovery thread:

... and here's Matt's photo thread:

... and Frank's:

Agreed Ausie, always infomative. Also miss Rack Attack, don't see him post much anymore but always enjoyed reading his stuff. Straight shooter.

So we should add a gone but not forgotten award.

Personally I can never get enough of the mountain lion threads in the northeast forum. Some good comedy when they pop up every now and then. I'll try to find a link or two. It's good fun for everyone to enjoy [8D]
