At present it is about 20 minutes to my lease. When we move into the new house next month it will be 5 minutes.

Every pre season I find myself excited about all the place I have to hunt that are less than an half hour away. But I always end up using the spot that is about 3min away. This year I am really going to make an effort to give those other spots a fair shake

I walk to all my hunting spots....most of the time (unless it's really hot). Everything is within a mile.

depends...sometimes im hunting out the back door of my buddies camp...sometimes im driving out to the township to hunt the farms that is 10 minutes away...sometimes im up at school and driving 20-30 minutes to hunt a state game lands...to be fair i voted 15 minutes...

i guess you could count the drive to school and the drive to camp...but when im at school i live there during the week and hunt from there...and stay at camp when we hunt from there...

At camp I have 150-200sq miles out my back door. When in WI I have to drive 1 hour to the cabin. From home to Saskatchewan, its 20 hours. From camp to Alberta its an18 hour drive. It all depends where I'm hunting. ;)

for bowhunting, either like 50 yards from the deck, or just 1/4 mile up and across the street.

When I lived in SD, and when I move back in a month, it is around 15 minutes. Have places that are farther but usually don't hunt them.

In Texas has been around 15 minutes as well.

My closest place is an hour and half, and my own patch is almost 4. Can't wait till the day that I can walk out the door and straight to a tree...........

RE: How far away on average do you travel to hunt?

It all depends on where I decide to hunt on a certain day. Some days it's a 5 minute drive, other days it's a 15 minute drive...(if I feel like a road trip).:D

When I hunt here in Wisconsin I drive about 45 minutes to an hour! My cabin in Norther Michigan is about 6 hours from where I live, there I just have to walk out the door and into the woods!

After looking at this poll, don't feel so bad about having to drive for an1 1/2 hours to get to the camp. I could hunt around the house but do not have the deer around here that we have around the camp.

RE: How far away on average do you travel to hunt?

2 hours plus was the norm for most of my deer hunting days, back when I mainly gun hunted. Now that I'm bow hunting mostly I can get to my best spot in about 45 minutes.

RE: How far away on average do you travel to hunt?

300yd 3min walk usually. That's to the place all my trailcam pics are from. If we hunt state land its about a 45min drive of so, but I don't hunt up there unless everyone is seeing deer, to me it's not worth it if you aren't seeing deer.

RE: How far away on average do you travel to hunt?

I can either walk ten minutes to a stand (we have 45 acres and two sides are bordered by national forest with national forest across the road) or drive 10 minutes to my Dad's (he has 72 acres, we lease 60 acres with him across from his corrall, plus we have the hunting rights on the 200+ acres we mow). It all depends on where I want to hunt and what type of stand I want to hunt out of (ladder stand and blinds at the house, box stands elsewhere). And yes I do know how lucky I am ... I thank God everyday that we live where we do.

RE: How far away on average do you travel to hunt?

Right now I drive about 3.5 hours to our camp in WV.

I will be moving back to WV next month and my drive will be cut down to2 hours which will be great...............plus I will have the "family's old home place" about 35 minutes away not to mentionall of the available coal company land that I will have access to.

I can't wait to move!

Two places, one is half hour, the better place is 2.5 hours.
The 2.5 hour trip pretty much limits me to weekends, holidays, and occasional Friday. [:@]
