Where there used to be an argument to be made against allowing crossbows, ever evolving compound technology has made the compound every bit the crossbow's equal in ease of use.
Wrong. You still have to pull the poundage and hold at full draw, not so with a crossbow.

Illinois still requires a doctor's ok in order to gain a crossbow permit.......I hope they keep it that way.

I say no unless your disabled, one of the biggest reasons why I bowhunt is because of fewer people in the woods if and when they legalize it here in MN it will turn into just like rifle season and that is about 1 person per 27 acres wich pretty much sucks!

I use a xbow due to injury. I would have liked to use a compound. The crossbow is not as easy to lug thru the brush and it's size and shape require more room to make a shot. It would be easier to hide with one of those tiny compounds. Since I got into archery, I found out about the draw-loc, but I don't think I'll switch. Compounds seem to be more troublesome than the Excalibur xbow and that's money that can be spent on guns.

Well said I agree 100 percent, dont mind cross bows but they should have their own season.

Of course they should be leagal to hunt with. However they should have there own season. I would not qualify them with archery hunting and I would certainly not qualify them with gun hunting. Just crossbows... I think that the current Illinois rule if fair, being that only a person with a certian handicap is allowed to use them.

Agreed..own seperate season..crossbows out number bows in Ohio woods by 4:1

They are leagal up here, but, I think they have to be used only during rifle season. ( not sure though ) I still like using my bow and wouldn't change it for the world.

Sure they should be legal, during Gun season along with the rest of the shoulder fired weapons.
Only those with a handicap that cant pull a bow should be allowed to hunt with a permit during bow season.

I think they should have a seperate season that is shorter... It shouldnt coincide w/ archery season, unless you're disabled.
