RE: Strong Built Hang On Stand

Climbers are great for moving around and for public land. Why go to the trouble of hanging a stand each time you go in the woods. A good set of sticks and a good hangon are as expensive as most climbers.

Hangons are great for leaving in the same tree so all you have to do climb up your sticks or steps and just hunt without the hassle of hanging the stand each time. Hangons will also accomodate more trees.

All above is just my opinion.

I've been following your threads. I think your best bet would be to buy a climber. Since you only plan on buying one stand.

That way you can move it around from location to location.

As for a good "cheap" stand, umm....I bought one of the cheap climbers from Wal-mart two years ago and its one of the more comfortable climbers I've ever had. It is also very sturdy and noise free. I can't remebmer who makes it... It may be Hunters View or something like that?

I would go ahead and spend the extra money. You will me using it for several years, and the cheap ones will get noisey as they age. Ive heard great things on the Summits and hunted one a few times very nice. I have a Old man and its been great, folds down flat. It is a little heavy but easy to walk through the woods though. Beside who wants to be up a tree 25 ft on a cheap stand. Not me!

Good point!
I guess the summit line seems to be the most favored round here so i will look in to those.

as the first stand u posted goes... id say if u buy it you wont like it an it will turn you offon hang ons cause of one bad stand...(i have that one bad hangon) but i love my other ones... i understand where you comin from with lookin for a "cheap" treestand.... but... get a good one it will last you for 5-6-7-8 years? maybe moredepends on how you are with your equipment... plus you will be in this thing 20-30 feet in a tree. u really wanna a cheaper stand that high in a tree... saftey........ sence this is your first time out of a tree id go with the climber... lil more piece of mind for first time in a tree ....plus u can fall asleep an not fall out;):D
