New climber Question?
 

Does anyone own a Timbertall baby lite climbing treestand/ know anything about it. I want going to buy the lonwolf bc everyone on here said it was the best but then i got my new bowhunter mag and this one was in it and it weighs 12lbs and looks more comfy....... Any comments on the timber tall would be great.. thanks:)

I don't know if you've read too much on here if "everyone" said Lone Wolf was the best. If you haven't tried a Summit, I would highly recommend one before you buy any climber, regardless of brand. IMO, there is no beating a Summit. They are all welded construction, very comfortable, lightweight, and very tough. Being welded, they are virtually silent with no nuts and bolts to rattle. A friend of mine uses Loggy Bayou, and they are very clangy because of the joints with bolts. I'm not familiar with the Timber Tall, but you can get the newest Summit Viper SS for $100 less, and that's in Cabelas. Get it from a store, and no shipping, so you are cheaper yet, and for a better stand. You get a bigger platform with the summit, more room on the top section, better climbing system with the stirrups, and with money left over to buy more toys. I know this is just my opinion and take it for what it's worth, which may be nothing! Good luck in your stand search. There are plenty to choose from.

thanks yoopermike and you couldnt be more right i have a summit but it weighs 20lbs i want a really light wieght stand that i can pack a mile or so into the woods.....
lone wolf -14.5lbs- pack to 2 inches but then it dosnt look very comfy
timber trail- 12lbs - looks conmfy but new... so?????

I've been looking at the lone wolf myself, my buddy has one and loves it. Kinda pricey though.

The thing that gets me about the lone wolf is that they are so damn expensive and uncomfortable as can be. Just look at the seat on those things. I'm more than willing to sacrifice a little weight for comfort. What good is it to get to a spot and then not be able to sit still because of comfort issues. The front bar on the lone wolf sit and climb is pretty spindly as well, where as the Summit is just as big as the rest of the tubing. I'm figuring this is where a big weight reduction is made. I run a Goliath, which is their heaviest stand, plus I have 2 side bags and a front bag on it, with all my stuff in it, so I would say my stand all together weights +-35 pounds. Seems like a ton, but once on, not a major deal, since with the side bags you can eliminate the need for a pack with the bags. I sound like I'm advertising for Summit, but if you are have the money to spend on a top-notch stand, you can't go wrong with the Summit, plus, like I said earlier, have money left over for something else. The Lone Wolf sit and climb is $360.00, a full $100.00 more than the Summit, with no added features. Again, its completely up to you what you want to hunt out of, and good luck in your choice!
