3D Target as Decoy

Hey guys, I was just curious if anyone uses their 3D deer target as a decoy during bow season? If so, what time of the season works best? I was out shooting this weekend and though, "Why wouldn't that work?" Anyways, if people have used their target as a decoy, have you had success with it or do you have any tips with it?

Thanks!

RE: 3D Target as Decoy

I have never used my target as a decoy, due to its weight and being cumbersome to carry. I puchased a collapsable one for use in the field.

BUT! It will work. If you're willing to carry it.

About 3 years ago I woke one morning to find my buck target in 4 pieces all over the yard. Apparnetly overnight a buck had decided to pick a fight w/ my target and tore it to shreds...

It will work best during the pre-rut and peak rut phases.

I have used mineseveral times, although I can't tell you I've nailed a big monster buck with it, I have had several small bucks and several does check it out. I have taken a few does because of it.
