Wisconsin Nov.1-4
Hey fellas, I was wondering if anybody can give me any info on what i might expect hunting southwest wisconsin (vernon county) during the first 4 days of November. I usually head up for thanksgiving and hunt the rifle season and get a couple does, but havent had luck with the bucks. I know there are some monsters, but i will be skipping the rifle season and focusing on what i love to do bowhunting. Im hoping someone can give me some input on whatthe wisconsin rut has to offer. Especially those first four days of November. Thanks

Well I hunt richland county out that way and stay in the stand all day if you can around then.
Were talking prime time here. Good Luck this year. |

Great time to be up here. Prime rut is usually Oct 31-Nov 10 in WI.The it starts to slow down a bit then picks back up again Mid Nov depending on weather. We have had some pretty mild deer seasons lately so the deer dont really seem to want to move till dark when it cools off. But this year im predicting the odds should be in your favor for bagging a nice Wi buck if you play your cards just right. Good luck, im thinking its going to be a great year!

I hunted Sauk County last year from the end of October until the second week of Nov. There is some excellent rut hunting going on then. There is only one catch....you will be hunting right after a full moon. Deer in tend to go a bit nocturnal during this phase and then take a few days to get back to moving around more during the day. I would bet you will find better hunting towards the end of your stay. Best of luck!

RE: Wisconsin Nov.1-4
thanks for the info. I know that anything can happen anytime during the rut so im planning on sitting all day. I was also wondering where you set up during this part of the rut. Wisconsin is very different than hunting Georgia and Alabama where i usually hunt. I usually stay in the timber all year down south. But was wondering what strategies the rest of you use. Whether you sit back in the timber, hunt fields, etc. There will be about 20 acres of corn on one of the farms im hunting and 3 will be left standing, so i was just curious to what the rest of you thought.
