HOME MADE TREESTAND

I built this treestand in my high school machine shop, it is made of one inch sqaure tubing and angle iron. I painted it with green/black spraypaint. The nice thing is i got to build the whole thing for free the materials were paid for by the school. I thought i would post some pics and see what you guys think.

Sweet, looks like you need to use a flat green paint. It looks quiet.

RE: HOME MADE TREESTAND

It has a 22 by 28 inch platform and has a 22 inch seat height. It weighs about 22lbs, a little heavy but not too bad

Good job. The only thing I would have done different is to use a flat black and green....no reflections.

One of the climbers that I have is home made. its heavy, but i really like it. Its solid, doesn't budge... even with me being 245lbs.

nice work my man. should make some more and sell them. but make sure the customer knows that if they injure themselves, ur not at fault. make them sign a waiver.

That's some nice work. There are not a lot of kids that can do that or are willing to. It's nice to see young people that are willing to work for something they want. Great Job.

Great looking stand.

That looks sturdier and cooler (especially the ability to fold) than some of the commercial stuff. I also like the big platform.

You selling? ;)

And yes, if you sell them, make sure you copy and include all the legal crap from another treestand manufacturer b/c treestands are an injury prone product.

Looks great, But id repaint and use a flat paint, theres an awful lot of glare on that paint. Not good if the sun cathces it right but great looking stan none the less.

While I love the craftsmanship. Be cautious of a couple things.

The chain doesn't "look" like it's heavy enough to support too much weight especially that far out towards the stand end.

That big of a platform with that much expanded metal on the base..will be creaky...and when it gets cold it will be really creaky.

Nice work but try and look at a couple refinements before the season.

I took on a project like that myself at migh highschool but the materials aren't cheap for me. Next year I am going to build a Bow Press.

Good job!I think you just found a career path..... i'm sure after using it for a season, you'll know if you need any minor changes, maybe none. Then start selling them, but check with all the legal stuff first. Good luck, i know i would really enjoy spending time sitting in a stand that i made myself!

Good work, you'll appreciate that stand a little more everytime you use it>:D

This will help.....take some steel wool and knock the shine off of that shiny paint.;)
