Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
Have any of you seen the video of the idiot who head shot a deer with his bow and the guys spend about a minute laughing about it while the deer rolls around?[:@]
This is the sort of junk that gives archery hunters and hunters in general a bad name. I've flagged it as inappropriate and think that anyone who has seen it should too. It paints archers as hillbillies and inhumane hunters and should be removed. Here's a link for you all to decide yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vTEZuzwFy8 |

HNIJustin,
I was hesitant to put the video link on here. Is that ok? I don't want to do anything that would get me in trouble. |
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
That video, in the whole, makes hunters look sadistic [:'(]
It's almost as bad as Justin's avatar [8D] |

RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
When I saw it I wanted to reach through the screen and kick the snot out of both of those guys. The idiot talks actually says he was going for spine shot from the front. Which is almost as bad in my eyes.
MDBUCKHUNTER sent me a picture of a doe that was caught on a trail cam that has a broken off arrow between her eye and jaw. Then I saw this and about snapped. |
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
A good example of a terrible shot! And why would they want to share that with the world? Morons [:@]
|
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
It might be different if somehow you hit one in the head on ACCIDENT, but were trying for a more ethical shot. When he laughs about it is when it ticks me off. Freak things happen ( hit twigs) or anything to where it could send an arrow off course but when he laughs and says he was going for the spine shot [:'(].

RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
I am aware of a gentleman who has a picture of a doe with an arrow in her face. He did not shoot her. It is a picture from a trail camera. Some other idiot shot her and so far she has lived through the season.
I was going to post the picture but I cannot find the strength to do so. I can't stand to see it and don't want the burden of viewing such a catastophyto fall on anyone else. This kind of crap makes me sick. I know for a fact that there are a few people on this site that have done that very thing. Labeling the deer a "pesky doe" and they "shot her just to get rid of her". I won't name any names. I am a hunter and I am proud to be a hunter with a soft heart. Shots like this make me sick. People like this make me sick. If you are going to hunt, pay respect to nature and hunt ethically. Everybody should be shooting for quick kills or not shooting at all. |

A$$holes!!!! |
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
that is too bad.
I must admit, hearing the sound of that buck coming in (the leaves/grunt) got me excited for the upcoming season. Although the shot and yahoos quickly ruined it. |
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
I'd like to make a head shot on that smacked ass and laugh while he wiggles around![:@][:'(]

Sickens me! I wish that stupid prick fell out of the treestand after and broke his tail bone.
You can not live your life in such a lowly manner because all things come full circle and Karma is a MoFo. (just a heads up to anyone who disrespects animals) Jim |

RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
Dislike of wounded animals is why one of my favorite roles growing up was tracking. I did not like to leave with the thought that the deer was suffering
out there. If I could find it I would quickly kill (I mean "harvest/dispatch" - nod to GMMAT) it. I always help with tracking (but now my eyesight isn't what it used to be and I'm not as good [:@]). Some people never grow out of the burning bugs with a magnifying glass stage of childhood. Probably many of us did cruel things to the animal kingdom when younger, but you are supposed to feel bad about it (at least later) and learn from it. |
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
If you listen closley you can hear him say "its not supposed to happen that way" and he said it was a little tooooo far forward. Could it have been a simple cover up or an honest mistake, not enough time spent in the stand, or practicing? If it was an honest mistake, he should have followed it up with a killing shot instead of sitting there laughing about it while the poor thing layed there in misery flopping around.Heaven forbid he wastes another arrow. When they started laughing is when it ticked me off as well. Anyone of us here that would have made a mistake like that would have had the decencey to follow up on a bad shot. I have on a few occasions and Im sure most of us have.

RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
need to watch what you say about hillbilles or you might look ingnorant your self. the bad thing about hunting is not eveyone has the same views. but your right there could be a million diffrent videos with good ethical shots and the media will pull that one odd ball one out because it will get a reaction
|
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
I am not going to watch it,the description is enough for me! To believe it funny to see an animal suffer is sick at best, sounds like they are a real good case for sterilization! People like that shouldn't be allowed to reproduce!

RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
I've got a copy of the deer with the broken arrow sticking out of its face, too....and I didn't post it, either.
As a MAN.....I don't mind admitting one bit that I'm a huge animal lover. Yes...I kill animals.....but I also do everything I can to make sure that task is performed in an efficient and ethical manner. I watched a special on HBO the other night about the racehorse, Barbaro. Tugged on my heart strings. Having to put an animal down that I loved only reinforces their importance in my life. It kills me to see one suffer......to see anything suffer. I didn't watch the short film. From the descriptions....I don't need to. |
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
I'm at least asking everyone to go to the site and tag the video as inappropriate. Yes, the video is terrible and I was torn about even posting it. However, my purpose was to get people to try and get this crap removed.
Start it and walk away. When it's over tag it to be removed. |

RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
Disgusting. I spined a deer two years ago and had to quickly get a second shot off to end things while the deer made an awful racket. I felt sick to my stomach for a few minutes that the first shot hadn't been a clean one and practiced, practiced, practiced that afternoon.
Doing something like he did in the video on purpose infuriates me. People who treat animals cruelly next start treating people cruelly. I'd watch out for this nutcase. |
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
I didn't even watch it don't plan on it! I can already tell their complete MORONS![:'(]
|
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
[:'(]Saw that video a few months ago, turned my stomach. Things like that make all hunters look bad. Should be taken off the site.
|
RE: Why Youtube isn't always a good thing (Head Shot)
I was appalled and disgusted by this video -- even my 9 year old nephew knows you don't let an animal suffer like that and you especially don't laugh about making a bad shot that causes the suffering!!!
I flagged the video and hope it doesn't come back to bite ethical hunters in the proverbial rear. |
