Hunting strategy change this year
Well due to recent heavy amounts of rain in the last 3 weeksI got a new plan for bowhunting out of my blind. No im not putting it on a raft. A fairly good sized section of one of our 8 acre corn fields drowned out kind of right in the middle. I think im going to be putting my blind in the washout area and see how well that will work for me. I have yet to kill a deer out of my blind because I cant seem to get it placed strategicly correct. Im hoping this will pay off. Once the corn is about 4 feet high I will place my blind out there so the deer get used to it being there. The only problem is Im afraid over the time it will be out there im afraid that the critters such asmice and ratswill damage the bottom of the blind more than it already is. How many leave your blinds out for long periods of time and how do you prevent damage to the bottom of the blinds? I have an Ameristep Doghouse Blind

RE: Hunting strategy change this year
I have a two person WALMART blind that has been out for almost two years. It's buriedway back in a mature pine plantation. We piled bamboo stalks against it and you could do the same with corn stalks.
It's holding up great and the deer are more than used to it. You could always put some rat poison in the tent if you're worried about rodents. |

never thought of using rat poison, just dont want tthe deer to get alod of any of it lol.
