blessed n born to hunt 02-07-2017 08:17 PM

I own and shoot and hunt with both and I love my crossbow but it's more like a gun and just not the same as pulling back and releasing , it's almost like im part of my bow. Maybe it's just something I can't explain , you just have to feel it , he shows up and you draw as he's right there just hold it wait , wait ,wait ,ahhhh yes !!! Thankyou Lord. Sorry caught in a memory, try shooting as mentioned cause of you can you want both but if you only get one go compound . Just an opinion , have fun and be safe

I have done this with a cocking rope while sitting down. I had shot a doe and the other just sat there so I took the chance to cock another. The other deer never left and she was only 15 yrds from me. Made for a fun drag let me tell ya lol.

On another occasion I had just shot a doe and cocked another in. I was not being quiet at all but when I loaded the bolt on the bow a buck came charging in grunting and snorting. I guess the arrow rattling on the bow got him a little angry. He came in form the direction she ran.

In both instances I was sitting on the ground in a chair in front of a cedar tree without a blind and on public ground.

It was bad enough with the newbies bringing up these 10-15 year old dead threads. Now it seems a few of the regulars have to get in the act when 99% of us keep asking to knock it off and stay with current threads!

Agree. I just wasn't paying attention to the thread dates. Just trying to enjoy the subject matter at hand.

It wasn't you that I was referring to, but rather a newer regular that has done this before!
