RE: For Gr8 Let go or brown down
Where's the "If its brown and white my arrows in flight" option?
Some of us do like having individual spots to pick from. ;) |
RE: For Gr8 Let go or brown down
I've got some scrappy antlers on my wall now, so I want to look for big bros and daddys (the granddaddys would be nice too, but not too many of them in PA).

RE: For Gr8 Let go or brown down
Well I'll open with a seies of questions in no particular order of importance.
1) How many racked bucks has the hunter taken? 2) How much time can the hunter spend in the woods? 3) What are his hunting skills? 4) What are his hunting areas genetics? 5) Is a bigger buck in a better shooting situation realistic? 6) Does him or his family require deer meat to sustain nutritional requirements? 7) Would this be the hunters best buck to date? 8) Does this deer have a chance at survival to reach genetic potential (as relates to Hunting Pressure) 9) Would the hunter be proud of this buck? 10) Can it be taken cleanly and ethically? |

Someone shoud cast a vote for Atlas in his absence. It shoudn't be hard to determine when this happens :).

RE: For Gr8 Let go or brown down
I shot a forked horn 1&1/2 year old when I was sixteen. I'd already killed a mature buck 2 years before, and knew what that felt like. It was opening day of rifle season and I knew I was done hunting, I looked down at the little buck and thought he would've been nice in a couple years. I decided right then that I would only shoot mature bucks and does, and that was years before I'd even heard of QDM. I took 5 years, but in 2001 I past another forked horn and shot 161 gross 10 pointer. Now I've converted our entire camp to QDM, and the hunting has really improved on our farm. Let'm go and watch'm grow!
