OK I think that we've gone a little to far...

I was looking in a bowhunting magazine the other night and saw a advertisement for a insert with a Sims Vibration piece of rubber on the end that fits into the shaft. The ad was talking about it cutting down a shaft vibration causing the arrow to be quieter and more accurate.I have a hard time beleiving that this thing could really helpyour noise or accuracy that much. What do y'all think?

You never know, but it sounds like another gimick to get your hard earned money.

How much accuracy you will gain from this insert I don't know but they do, in fact, stop vibrations in the shaft much quicker than an arrow with out them installed.

Actually it would probably help your consistency and accuracy a lot, but I'd like to see some tests.

Also it will make your arrows much quiter... adding weight to an arrow allows it to absorb more of the string's energy, therefore having less energy to waste on sound...

It would help cover for a bow thats not perfectly tune... Not to mention you'd get better penetration..

Straight arrow flight (meaning no oscillation, minnowing etc) is the best thing for a bow. You'd be suprised how much efficiency you lose when the arrow flops around in flight..

Where's Len on this one?

But how much noise does your arrow make while it's flexing. I know that some fletching whiz in the air but these this wouldn't help that. But I really don't think that your arrow flexing from the energy of the string makes that much noise.

its not the arrow itself making noise, its the bow+arrow... If you shoot a heavier arrow your bow is quieter.

I think it's great. I'm also glad they put the harmonic dampeners on my cough silencer.

What we really need are mini stabilizing weights like airplanes have in their wing tips... the weight moves back and forth as a counterbalance... that right there would be one high tech arrow:D
