My Dad retired from a Ford Stamping Plant after 30 years .... it made for some interesting conversations when I took a job at a dealership in Fixed Ops that had evry American franchise BUT Ford ..... I had ta buy a GM ... wouldn't wanna bite the hand that was feeding me ...... Dad's time was done in that area .... I have a soft spot for Fords ....

You can take my advise to the bank.
From a 23 year veteran in the car business.
No. 1 Used Chey/GMC- They really are the SAME.
No. 1 1/2 Used Toyota -if you want to spend a small fortune.
No. 2 Used Ford
No other choices.

Archer .... I agree for the most part ... the Toyota will rot away before the engine and tranny go .... I think I would give Ford the edge for that reason .... but that's me ...:D

I had a 05' f-150 ext cab and now got a 06' ford super crew f-150 fx4 with luxury package.....I've done a few things like lift/tires/wheels/programmer/intake/exhaust and love it. My buddy has a new 07' chevy just like the one pictured above...a LT i believe....anyway, after looking over his truck chevy took 99% of a ford truck and rebadged it with bowties. So just buy the ford and be done with it. LOL. In all honesty I woudln't trade my f-150 for a chevy, gm, dodge, nissan, or toyota.....as a matter of fact the only thing I may trade my f-150 for is a the new 09' f-150 with the 6.2l boss.

190,000 miles on my Expedition and still runs like a top!

I bought it with 72,000 on it 3 1/2 years ago
I have replaced one coil and had the originalplugs changed at 168,000 miles
That's it!

I voted for Isuzu. Just for the fact that it sounds so manly....LOL

Imagine telling all your buddies you drive an Isuzu.[&:]

I work on Ford's everyday, but not many problems with the F series trucks mostly maintenence. Their cars on the other hand.... YUCK! except the new Fusion, no problems with those yet.

Go with a GM -Duramax Crew cab with a 6ft bed. A friend of mine picked one up, SWEET is all I can say. I am on my third Ford since 82' and all have treated me well, right now I have a 2000 F250 PSD and it is a great truck and I will keep it for another year or two, sounless GM blows a good thing I will be aconvert on my next purchase.

Dude - You're a Michigan man living in theheart ofBig Three country. You're in GM's back yard. The place where Henry Ford started it all. You've gotta stick with something from GM, Ford, or Chrysler. Screw Toyota. Of the big three, I'm partial to the Chevy's. Just look at that thing!

By the way, the 2007 Chevy Silverado won the North American Truck of the Year award..... Not Ford, Not Dodge and definitely not TOY-ota.

GO CHEVY - Support your neighbors.....

I am a Chevy Man, Like Racing Like Dale Jr.
Toyota seems to be the only Truck Made in America.
Buy a Used one from an individual and support your local ecconomy. Dealers Suck.
Wal Mart sucks too. buy your Sporting Goods from a Local.
They Pay Taxes and put Money back in your Area. Wal Mart Packs it off to China.

I voted Ford because Internation Harvester wasn't a choice. I really think he should get a CXT and give us a ride.

Step-Dad has a 95 with 230k on it, and nothing real bad has went wrong with it. He's having to replace the spider gears right now. Other than that, just little things (i.e power windows, windshield wiper motor)

Wehad a customer trade an '06 Tundra Crew on a '07 Chevy 1500 Ex. Cab because the v-8 in the Tundra only got 13 mpg. '07 Chevy w/ 5.3L v-8 gets 16 in town driving and 21 hwy. all day long.
