RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
I didn't even know that Toyota was on the radar......BUT....
My company vehicle is an '03 Tundra with 100K miles on it, currently. Lisa drives an '03 GMC Yukon or the '03 Jeep Wrangler.....and the Toyota is HEAD AND SHOULDERS above either of those vehicles in workmanship and performance. You can buy with your heart......or with your head. if you buy with your head, though.....the Toyota is hard to beat. I'm all for supporting American made products......but my Toyota is a MUCH finer vehicle than the GM or Ford produts......AND....it's made in America, too. |
RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
Toyota without a doubt
|
RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
If you never tow over 5000 pounds a chevy or gm would be my choice 1500 and up , the colorado and small gmc are made by issusu , do not buy any these or a dodge . If you tow heavy stuff , tractors and sutch , ford diesel is a perfect truck .
For light towing and great ride , toyota and chevy are great . I manage a fleat of 30 trucks , and aint just talking out my back end , my advise comes from experiance , and paying mantainence bills . |
RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
I hear ya, Jimmy. We have approx. 150 company vehicles.....and not a single Ford, Dodge, Nissan, etc...in the mix. I'm not saying anything derogatory about those vehicles.....just stating a fact. Our equip. manager buys GM or Toyota.....for a reason. My next vehicle will be the new Tundra.

RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
Hey Germ, maybe I missed it, but how far are you going to be driving the truck? I know you said you didn't put many miles on them, but does that mean a few 1,000 mile trips a year?A lot of short runs to hunt around your area?If not, I would lean towards an older truck than what you had mentioned. Easier to work on, easier on the pocketbook too. Not sure I would want to jump in a 20 year old vehicle to drive 2 or 3 states away though. That Dakota looked nice for the money. I will tell you we have a Durango with the same engine....drinks gas in an understatement.[:@]Good luck with whatever you decide.

Here you go Germ. See if this camo color will work for you. It's a factory ordered color along with 4X4, 5.5 Tons Payload, 20 tons towing, and totally decked out on the inside standard just because a guy needs it.

Not tryin to start a war Jeff, but made in America is a marketing ploy... All the profits go back to Japan... Thats a helluva "marketing ploy". |
RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
Jack Bauer has driven Fords and Toyotas, so either one of those has to be great. I mean, if you have to save the world 6 times in 6 days, you better drive a truck that is top of the line:D

99 Silverdo 2500 49,000 miles 10,600[:@] |
RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
But we'd be even better off if every American bought American... There's a reason people buy Toyotas, Nissans, Mercedes, etc......and it has nothing to do with loving foreigners more than our own. |

RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
NOTHING wrong with a Chevy, germ. I bought Lisa a Yukon (GM). I had an Impala when I met her......and I've bought 3 or 4 Chevy trucks for my Supt.'s in the last few years.
It all boils down to economics. We put a LOT of miles on our Co. vehicles......and we turn them around in 2-3 yrs. I'll KEEP BUYING Chevy's. They "work" for us, performance-wise AND fiscally. |

OOps might be a Dodge
Sorry Preacher:D I looking at a Dakato with 40,000 miles 3.9 6 Cyl 4x4 Regular Cab for 10,000 out the door. I really do not want a full size truck again, but a Ranger and S-10 are just to small. I will let you guys know:D Even if the Dodge goes at 70 it will take me over 10 year to get it there. I really just use my pickupfor deer hunting. |

RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
I've heard a lot of people say that Dodge's were like Fat girls and Mopeds.
They're all fun to ride.....but you don't want your friends to see you on one. |
RE: Truck For Germ - Poll
