Ladder Treestands?
I am pretty set on getting a treestand after only using ground blinds but i didnt like how difficult it was to get my cousins hanging stand up so i am gonna get a ladder stand.
I dont really want to spend over $150 so if you have any suggestions on models or brands please post them here. Any info will help! Thanks |
RE: Ladder Treestands?
This one is just a bit more than you wanted to spend ($180) but the Cabela's I-beam models are great stands. We have a couple that my Dad hunts from and they are very comfortable and of impressive quality.

Stay away from the Walmart Ladder stands! They are very uncomfortable!!
I would recommend Strong Built. (if they still make them??) TP |

RE: Ladder Treestands?
Bought an inexpensive one at Cabela's about 6-7 years ago and still works for me today. I don't spend all day in it though, only about 4 hours in the morning and 3 in the evening. I have a compressed foam pad I take in with me (I leave the stand up during most of the season)and it makes a difference if it is chilly or wet.

RE: Ladder Treestands?
I use both a ladder and hangin, I use the hangin stands for bow hunting because i don,t like armrest and all that to restrict movement when bow hutnin and is use the ladders when gun or smoke pole huntin for the comfort and shootin rails and i usually take some burlap and hang around the shootin rail to add some camo. the ladder is a big game deluxe box stand super comfortable and the hangin stands i like Gorrila and ameristep

RE: Ladder Treestands?
I have gotten mine from Cabelas when they are 2 for $69 each. Work great. Guess I will have to check out Dicks. I have a deer hauler I take them in & out of the woods on. I have also gotten the Double one from WalMArt on sale for $75-makes it nice-I can sit with my Daughter when she goes.

RE: Ladder Treestands?
BUY A GOOD CLIMBER, STAY AWAY FROM LADDER STANDS. ONLY THING THEY'RE GOOD FOR ARE 1. TO GET STOLEN, 2. FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO USE, 3. TO PRACTICE IN YOUR BACKYARD WITH, 4. TO GET STOLEN AGAIN.

RE: Ladder Treestands?
If you thought it was a pain to set up a hangon, you should try setting up somebodies ladder stand before you buy one. I've got an old strongbuilt ladder that's sturdy and comfortable but it's a real chore to set up by yourself. The hangons are much lighter and easier once you do them a few times. |
RE: Ladder Treestands?
Check out the Sportsmans guide. I have 7 of there 20 ft ladder stands. They are around $120 each. I got mine on sale for $117. These stands are very comfortable and stable. I even add a extra section of ladder so I am at 25ft. I am able to put these stands up by myself by hanging a pulley in the tree and then simply pull the stand into position. Also if you join there buyers club you can get everything at a discounted price.
