Bow Lubricant?
 

My Bowtech manual states: "Proper lubrication of the axles and limb pockets limits wear and tear. Add enough lubrican to these areas to creat a barrier between each working part and to optimize the performance of the bow. NOTE: Only industry standard lubricants should be used. Do Not Use WD-40."

Two questions: (1) How often do you guys lubricate your bows, and (2) what do you use.

I'm really curiuous about the last question, because all I have is gun oil, but it stinks and I can just see it leaking out all over the bow strings. Is there something waxier or better?

I posted something about this last season. I really like this stuff. It's called White Lightning. It's made for bike chains but I think it's perfect for hunting applications. Wax based, self-cleaning and has very low odor while in liquid form. Just go to REI or your local bike shop should have some.

I was dreading putting gun oil on my bow.
Is this stuff good for all metal stuff, like rifles and pistols?
Does it adequately prevent rust?
If so, I'm gonna try it on all my gear, I'm tired of the stench
and mess of gun oil.

Well I won't endorse it for gun stuff but I will for my bow, release and hunting stand.
