What type of ascent device?

Hey all,
Im gearing up for next season and need to get some new stands. Im trying to decide what to use for my "semi-permenant" stands. Also, Im trying to be as efficient as possible (dont want too spend much).

Please tell me why you use what you use, and what brand. Thanks!!!

I will be using Lone Wolf climbing sticks. They weigh 2.5 lbs each and 4 of them should get you high enough, especially early in the season. I will be also carrying some Ameristep screw in steps either for a platform for the tree saddle or to get a little higher if I am only using 3 climbing sticks. Where I go that particular day will determine what gear I am taking (tree stand, tree saddle, # of stcks/steps).

Could you please add, " ALL of the above" to the poll? Then I'll vote.

Well tree step would be the cheapest and easiest to transport, but a pain for obvious reasons and may not be legal depending where you hunt. I have had and used climbing sticks, Rivers Edge for the past two years and like them. They are sturdy and easy to assemble. I did add some vecro pieces on each step for better traction in wet conditions though. I recall that I got them for $36 for the 14' set.

I use climbing sticks from River Edge or is it Hunter's Edge whatever , their somewhat light enough to carry in and easy to put together and strong enough to support my fat butt.
