RE: Elk hunting Tips round #2!
Nice work. The last elk I shot I jumped three Bulls beded down, the wind was in my face so they did not smell me. They ran off silent for being elk, still breaking every branch in the way. I waited about 5 minutes and then started to track them. We had about 18" of new snow on the ground so this was very easy to do. About 2.5 miles later I caught up to them. There was a little bank that I was walking behind and I caught a wiff of a nasty smelling bull. I loaded the gun poped over the bank and there stood a nice 5x5 bull 65 yards away. It was almost my most exciting elk hunt! This was the latter part of October.
