First Fletching Experience

Here is the end result of my first fletching experience. I think they turned out pretty good. I really like the wraps by onestringer. Great wraps at an even better price!

One question: After you apply the line of glue to the vane,do you smooth it out with your figure? The first two arrows had excess glue on them andafterI started smoothing the glue out theyturned out muchbetter.

Nice work! I like the orange and white, thats the colors I'm after but with a white nock and 2 orange/1 white blazers! Have you shot the Orange/White arrows yet, do they stand out well??

Nope, I just finished them tonight and will hopefully get out and shoot tomorrow after work.

They do look great!! Nice job. As far as the glue, that's really the only "art" there is to fletching arrows, the right amount of glue. You're using just a little too much. It takes far less than you would think it would.

Think of it like this.....Run a SMALL bead of glue down the vane. Even if you miss a tiny spot here and there, don't worry about it. When you mash the vane to the shaft that glue will all even out, giving good coverage. If you use too much it's gonna run out the ends.

You'll be hooked now! A tip....once you get those blazer vanes on and they're dry...put a small bead of glue on the front and rear tip of the vane and then allow them to dry.

Thanks for the tip! I did do that with these arrows.
