PSE X bows

anyone shot them? They look pretty interesting with the 9" limbs. specifically looking at the mossy oak X and firestorm x. it will be used strictly as a hunting bow.

I have shot the Mach X and the X force. I wouldn't give what they want for either of them. Infact, I might take them if they were giving them away, but only so I could sell them for a profit. I know its strong words, but I really do not think they are worth the $700+ they are bringing. $400...maybe.

Taste in what makes a good bow varies greatly from person to person. Its tough to have your cake and eat it too. Everyone wants smooth draw, no shock, no noise and speed of sound with a price tag that sends you out the door with more money than you came in with.

Reality is, if you want it all, you are going to have to pay for it, and usually buy two bows. Fast is usually expensive, loud, and uncomfortable to shoot. Smooth is usually expensive, heavy, and slow.

What exactly is the main feature you are looking for in a bow? Forget about price for a minute, since you are looking at the new PSE's, this clearly isn't a bother anyway. But do you want quiet? Fast? No shock? Forgiving? Built like a rock? What is your number one desire in a bow?

I've shot both, and I would say the MossyOakX is a little more forgiving. If I was in the market for a bow I would have been all over the MachX a month ago. Im not use to seeing that 900$ price tag on a PSE, but your honestly getting what you pay for.

well i'm going to keep my protec with spiral cams for competition, 3d. Just looking for a good all around hunting bow. Dont need anything super fast, since i hunt with a range finger, shoot 475 grain arrows, and have a 30" draw. Mostly looking for something thats easy to carry, and quiet. I've also been looking at the diamond black ice, and the bass pro kryptik has also caught my eye - basically a diamond with split limbs.

Acctually Josh that Kryptik isa BowTech with split limbs. Diamond/Bowtech same thing right? Not exactly, but kissin' cousins. The Kryptik is acctually made BY BowTech, not by Diamond. A friend who works at Bass Pro went to their big archery to-do in Springfield and says that the first one in 70# 28" draw that comes in is his. And he is shooting a Mathews currently thats not exactly old. Must be something to it.

The black ice sort of dissapointed me because I was expecting it be faster than it was. But, since speed isn't an overwhelming concern for you, it might be just the ticket. Also check out the 07 Allegience, its a real featherweight, and with speed cams it would roar with your 30" draw, and it still wouldn't be a slouch with the smooth mods either.
