New rest and sighting in question
 

I just purchased a new Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter Rest and boy oh boy I couldn't be any happier.

I was shooting at the range today and was wondering how I could get one pin for shooting 30 yds and below. I have my 60lb limbs maxed out, shooting 266fps with a 5575 Pro Hunter Gold Tip arrow with 100 gr. tip. The only adjustment I can think of making is moving my sight farther out beyond my riser.

I can move my sight out 3/4" or I am sure I could purchase a bracket to move farther out if I need to.

Any suggestions?

First, Trophy Taker will ship their new rest starting May 15th. It is called Trophy Taker Extreme FC (Full Containment). Honestly, you should have probably waited for this one. It is exactly what you have except that it has a complete shell/guard around it for totalarrow capture. If you can still return the one you just bought, you might want to consider it.

Next, the drop from 10-20-30 yards at 266 fps will remain constant. Moving the sights out will not really change that. What itcan do is multiply any form errors that you may encounter.

I just wasn't ready to drop that kind of cash on that rest. I went back up to LAS and tested the same TT rest compared to a few others. For my rig, it was a no brainer.

As for the full containment issue, I have been researching all the products I can find. I have found a few I like, some I hate and some that just plain confused me. Only time will tell.

Second, I have perfect form...I am not worried. :D

Actually, I am just playing around with equipment until season starts. The 6" extension that Impact Archery sells is going to put my sight out beyond my limb bolts. SomethingI just don't want to have happen for archery season. I like the fact that the structure of my bow, to some degree, protects it's equipment.

To get flat enough trajectory to use one pin out to thirty yards you will probably need to be shooting somewhere in the 290fps range. Anything much slower will put you either too high at 20 or too low at 30.
