Wheatley,
Do you need a different tag in Nebraska depending on which species you are going after or are they all lumped into one Turkey tag?

Same tag for everything. There are so many turkeys in Nebraska you can buy three tags now. Like Michael said they are all over the place. If you want to see a Meriam you will have to go to the NW corner of Nebraska most of the time.

I hunted them a few times back when I lived in Utah. There they were exclusively mountain birds. In the spring hunts (the only ones they had back then) you had to get right up to the snow line to find them. Numbers were low, the mountains imense, I sounded more like a rusty hinge than a turkey- those were tough hunts!
