RE: 60 pounds
It depends on your shooting skills. It's heavy enough for Grizzly if your man enough.;)

RE: 60 pounds
It all depends on your personal ability, but 60lbs is pleanty to get an arrow movin pretty quick. Its also pleanty to kill a bear. It really has a lot to do with shot placement.

RE: 60 pounds
I agree, you can probably kill almost anything you want to hunt with 60#! The key is to get it inthe vitals!!

RE: 60 pounds
I would say it depends on your draw length, the weight of the arrow and the type and age of the bow.

RE: 60 pounds
I have a Reflex Buckskin with 50-60lb limbs set at 60lbs wit a Muzzy drop away rest. Chrono speed is 286fps. The last deer I shot was a complete pass thru at 12 yds and the broadhead was completely buried in a tree on the other side of the deer. A 60lb draw bow properly set up ,and used at appropiate, ranges can kill just about anything you want to kill as long as you can put the arrow in the right place. For a grizzly I would suggest a firearm backup and/or hunting from a tree stand.

RE: 60 pounds
anything is possible with the new xforce ;)
Kidding. I shot 60lbs last year and got a passthru on my only shot. Not calling myself chicken but I don't think I'd stick and string a grizzly with 70lbs. lol. I would say it COULD be done, but I, myself, aren't going to try it. |
RE: 60 pounds
ORIGINAL: Horizontal Hunter For a grizzly I would suggest a firearm backup and/or hunting from a tree stand. |
RE: 60 pounds
A grizzly has a lot more tissue to pass through than a deer. I would just check the regulations and go from there.

RE: 60 pounds
60#'s is plenty for grizzly if you pick your shots and your opportunities carefully, but that's true of any shot that's getting thrown at something that can eat you! I wouldn't suggest shooting over 30 yards unless you're using an exceptionally heavy arrow. The big question is; can you shoot a grizzly once you're within 30 yards?
