RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
Terry, the Black Ice is available up North, I can get you the name of the Dealer on Monday. He had a few of them at the show in Barrie--the same guy is alsoan AR Dealer.
I can say that I did feel a difference in the 05 & 07 Allegiance. My 05' felt more compact/solid. The 07 to me had a wobbly/soft feel initially. Of course the 05 weighs 4lbs 3ozs compared to the 07' with 3.8 lbs--the difference in weight may have been the reason, as I lean towards a heavier bow, feels more stable to me. The changes in the 07 riser has reduced some weight. The cam lean has been addressedon the 07', by moving more mass to the center of the cam. Nevertheless, this never really affected the 05' Allegiance, even with cam lean, providing the bow/arrow is reasonably tuned. Either model, be it the Tribute, Allegiance, Guardian, Equalizer with some amount of practicewill soonbe master by the shooter, and unless you're switching bowsregularily, only then you will be constantly adjusting to their feel. Otherwise, sticking with one bow, eventually your consistancy will stay the same, and you would pretty much be able to shoot the bow with your eyes closed. |
RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
Well boys, My Ally came into today!!!!!!! Haven't had a chance to set it up but she sure feels sweet. I will let you all know how she shoots!!!!!!!!!!
Ampahunter, many thanks for your patience & advice I think I made the right choice in the end. You need to come on down and do a hunt with Nubo and I this fall. |
RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
Glad to hear it, Terry... I think you're gonna love that bow. I had mine out yesterday shooting it again after my MeanV String Supressor came in the mail yesterday... I was just absolutely drilling X's with it even after shooting the Guardian exclusively for the last week or so.

RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
Congratulations on finally getting your bow. I hope you enjoy shooting it as much as I enjoy mine.
Greg, How much of a difference does the MeanV make on the Ally? |
RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
dave, it shortened the duration of theshot noiseby about half, if that makes sense... I think it may also help in the coldest winter months when I'm wearing my super-thick wool Predator bomber jacket from Gray Wolf Woolens.
Hitting my sleeves has never been a problem, as I shoot with a pretty good bend in my elbow... but it's nice knowing that if those puffy sleeves did get in the way, that the supressor would stop the forward movement of the string. |
RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
Personally I would go with the Allegiance. I have an 05 and the only thing I don't like about it is the weight and they have made them lighter now. I have a 29" draw and at 58lbs. it shoots a 390 grain arrow at 270fps. At 70lbs. a 420 grain arrow at 285 fps. I love this bow but, I also like the Guardian very well too. I am waiting til next year to buy a new bow to see if they knock a little weight off of it like they did the Ally.

RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
Tribute for me. Fast, accurate, good feel in my hand, and in the stand. Can't imagine any bo wbeing better. I shot itside by side with a Switchback, though, so I can't comment on the Allegiance.

RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
Greg,
Your answer does make sense. Thank you. |
RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
I will also be installing a Meanv CSS on my Allegiance. I had one on my last two bows and am a big believer in them. hunting up here in Ontario means heavy bulky clothing and the STS type devices really make a difference in preventing arm slap. Love those devices.

RE: Tribute or Allegiance?
Terry,
If I can ask..what were the 2 biggest factors that made you go w/ the Alligience? This is a great post for me because I'm trying to descide the same as you. I'm going to replace the Trykon w/ one of these. After buying a Black Ice this year I'm sold on the Bowteck/Diamond line. Is the Tribute the same as the Black Ice except for cam type? That might be the desciding factor to go Ally. |
